The City's Demise
The episode opens on chaos, a sudden, apocalyptic shift from tranquil cityscapes to crumbling buildings and a fiery red sky. Rei stands amidst the panic, a lone figure overwhelmed by the horror unfolding around him. We are then plunged into the enemy's domain, a stark, menacing fortress where Raiga, a towering demon, speaks with a sinister glee about global conquest. His army of demon soldiers stands ready, an unnerving display of power under an ominous, unnatural sky.
Raiga's Unsettling Confidence
Within the demon fortress, Raiga is unsettlingly casual, almost playful, as his generals like Shuten and Byakuen discuss the invasion of Tokyo. He dismisses Byakuen's question about the true purpose of conquering the human world with a song and a peace sign. His impatience with Byakuen's lack of enthusiasm feels more like a child throwing a tantrum than a world-ending threat. It is a chilling portrait of power untethered from any sense of gravity.
Echoes of Battle
A rapid-fire sequence of flashbacks flashes across the screen, showing a desolate, shattered world where a young man, Jun, stands bewildered. We see Rei in silhouette, scythe in hand, then in his red Samurai Trooper armor, charging into battle. He clashes violently with Raiga, also armored, the confrontation ending in a blinding flash of power. These quick cuts offer violent glimpses of a past or future struggle, laying bare the brutal stakes.
A Moment of Peace
The scene shifts abruptly to a tranquil training hall, a stark contrast to the preceding violence. Rei is singing, and Shu quietly eats, a picture of domestic calm. Shu identifies Rei's song, revealing his grandmother used to like it, which brings a moment of genuine connection and nostalgia. Rei's surprised excitement and toothy smile ground the characters in their humanity, making their impending struggles feel more personal.
The Bond Forged in Fire
More flashbacks follow, showing the other Samurai Troopers receiving their powers, then Rei himself, sparks of energy around him. A voice assures him he is a "messenger of flame." This leads to a tense moment where Shu, in human form, speaks of a "curse" and the "finale," and both he and Rei stand back-to-back, shouting a unified oath. These flashes solidify their shared destiny and the deep, almost spiritual connection they share.
Rei's Fiery Awakening
After a dramatic light show, Rei completes his transformation, now clad in vibrant red armor, surrounded by Japanese patterns and floating petals. The other Troopers are relieved but express worry about their own armors being absorbed by the enemy, fearing possession. Rei, confident in his new form, assures them, claiming his "Sword of Justice" prevents such puppetry. He stands ready, his determination palpable.
Brother Against Brother
Shu, now in purple armor, appears menacingly eager for battle. He charges Rei, spear in hand, but Rei deftly parries his attacks. Rei reveals his intimate knowledge of Shu's moves, stating he was "inside" him, understanding his every action. This isn't just a physical fight; it's a battle of wills between two who know each other deeply.
Shu's Demonic Manifestation
Rei unleashes a powerful flame attack, seemingly defeating Shu, whose armor cracks and shatters. But Shu rises, his smile now sinister, generating dark energy. He undergoes a horrifying transformation into a demonic entity with glowing red eyes. The other Troopers watch in horror as their friend is completely consumed, becoming a puppet of the netherworld. The new demonic Shu challenges Rei, the battle becoming even more personal and tragic.
Overwhelmed and Resilient
Rei and the demonized Shu clash again, but Rei is quickly overwhelmed, pushed back and sent flying. When the other Troopers appear in their armors to help, attacking Shu with their combined might, Shu easily repels them with a massive burst of dark energy. He then brutally headbutts Rei, who collapses, seemingly defeated. The sheer power of the possessed Shu is devastating, leaving the heroes vulnerable.
Despair and Broken Promises
With Rei defeated, Shu raises his spear for a killing blow. Jun, in human form, desperately begs him to stop, throwing his staff, but Shu effortlessly crushes it, mocking him. Shu then brings his spear down, creating an explosion that appears to end Rei. He then holds up Rei's sword, crushes it, and contemptuously throws the shattered pieces to the ground, leaving the other Troopers in despair as he teleports away, triumphant.
The White Flame Rises
Amidst the despair of his comrades, Rei's hand twitches. His chest plate glows faintly, a spark of defiance. He slowly, painfully pushes himself up, injured but unbroken. With a guttural yell, he declares his refusal to give up, igniting with red flames. Then, in a dramatic surge of power, his armor transforms from red to white with golden accents, his eyes glowing blue. He is reborn, more powerful and resolute.
A Friend Freed
Rei, now in his white armor, charges with newfound strength, striking the demonic Shu with a powerful blow that sends him flying. Shu looks on in disbelief as Rei explains his power comes from the combined spirits of the original Samurai Troopers within him. Rei's overwhelming attack causes Shu's demonic form to dissolve into a purifying light. The purple demon mask falls to the ground, and Shu sits confused but relieved, returned to his human self.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
Shu looks at his hands, surprised by his freedom, then expresses profound gratitude to Rei. Jun rushes to hug Shu, tears of joy flowing. Rei smiles, content, and offers his restored sword to Shu, asking him to use it to kill him, to truly sever Raiga's influence. Shu is shocked and refuses. Rei, resigned, explains that Raiga's true self is still within him. He closes his eyes and collapses into a swirling abyss, his armor glowing as he disappears, leaving his friends heartbroken.
A World Restored, a Friend Mourned
As Rei disappears, Shu looks up through his tears to see Raiga's fortress crumbling and vanishing from the sky. Jun cries tears of relief and joy as the ominous presence dissipates. The night sky returns to normal, peaceful and clear. The four remaining Troopers stand together, solemn but victorious, on the edge of the abyss where Rei fell. Shu whispers a final "thank you" to Rei, a poignant end to a hard-won battle.
EPISODE REVIEWS

Awesome callbacks to the original series, alongside amazing action sequences that worked really well to end season 1 with a thrilling finale! White it was a little overwhelming, the ending is grandoise and well attributed to the happenings up till now.

The introduction of the additional help freed by white blaze felt so abrupt and plot convenient, but since it wasn't focused on that much I guess it was fine. The plot progresses way too fast, but the pacing has slowed to give room for the final battle.

The old heads showed up, Inferno armor went hard, nothing I haven't seen before but it kept the zoomers happy.
