The episode was excellent because Masane's character development wasn't rushed. She isn't the type of character who suddenly knows everything in every scene, her confusion and her search for answers are palpable.

If the first episode was quick to set the plot, this one jumps straight to the point. I'm really liking that Riko is a kid acting like such, many series fall into an "ambiguously aged young person" kind of writing that feels uncanny but that's not happening here.
