QUICK TAKES

Everyone shares their dream of the future.
It started warm and joyful, and I can't figure out whether that character is good or bad — the writer did a good job there.
Overall — plot building: 8/10

This episode begins with a relaxed atmosphere. The episode then becomes exciting when Qifrey starts investigating about the mysterious wizard. The pace is just right but the plot doesn't really progress much.

Creo que fue un episodio bastante tranquilo , con bastante tensión como para recordarte lo importante y los peligros de toda esta historia.

Overall nothing really progressed this episode, it even regressed and viewers finished the episode not knowing what to look forward to.

One of the best parts of the episode is how the similarities between Coco and Qifrey were portrayed. Both are pursuing a goal and are willing to make sacrifices for it.

The Brimmed-Hat Witches seem so overpowered, no? I really can't believe Qifrey would lose that easily. But honestly, it's more interesting this way. It would be pretty disappointing if they were defeated so easily. On another note, I really loved the animation detail on the vial. It was incredibly smooth and impressive, especially considering it was such a minor scene.

Although it's a magical world, the proximity to which mental illness can destabilize a person draws us closer to this story. Coco falls ill in the face of all the hostility she witnesses: her presence is unwanted, she is a "stone that could shake the existence of the magical world." Doubts gnaw at her: will she really be able to save her mother? Is magic something she should have desired?
Furthermore, we see Agathe facing a conflict: why doesn't this Outsider denounce the way she's treated? How can someone be so helpful and kind after being deceived and exposed to danger? The little black-haired witch questions her own actions when her Sylph Shoes are returned (and redesigned by Coco). And then Coco faints in front of Agathe.
Desperate, we see how childish they all are. Agathe does the right thing, running to seek help from an adult. Qifrey helps his apprentices and proves himself a true teacher despite his questionable actions in the last episodes.

It was getting interesting til this episode. About the ink and some lore bomb about the previous one. The way they described the confusing part in previous episode is kinda reveal here. I love how they described many character with their development. This episode really interesting that make me more excited

A good episode where we can learn more from the proffesor Qifrey and see our protagonist concentrate in her motivations

This is an epidose with so much mystery about one of the main characters. Also, it shows that is really important the health and care we must have, no mather the age we have.

I love how the start of the episode feels idyllic and even gives us more worldbuilding intertwined with character interactions. I especially loved seeing Richech more on this episode, she's a character I feel very curious about so far. But the middle one really takes us to A LOT of places here! So exciting!

I can tell this was another one of those bridge episodes as it was quite chill and just a tad bit slow, but somehow NONE of it was boring!! Things are definitely starting to unravel and a lot of scenes in this particular episode made me antsy, and that’s lowkey so fun😭 HAHA. Like when Qifrey was toying around with the ink bottle?? Like can we get more explanation on that, because genuinely what was that?!! And plus that little scene between Agott and Richeh?!! But on a more serious note, loveee the direction the plot is taking! Ps. Brushbuddy is literally the cutest thing to ever exist, my cuteness aggression could never😭🫶🏻

BRUSHBUDDY IS SUCH A CUTIE ARGHHH I NEED IT!! Ahem but besides me gushing about Brushbuddy, I relate to Richeh so much- specifically about "If being an adult means being forced to do things you don't want to do. Then I'd rather stay as I am. " That's so real and it really stuck to me. I mean, why should I live a life where I don't enjoy what I'm doing? You only live once so why should it be miserable? I'm only a few months away from being an adult and I'm definitely a bit scared of the future, but nevertheless I hope I'm going to be genuinely happy and content

Another hook episode. Each part contains important info, but it is not heavy. We can slowly take in the details, and another intense moment occurs at the end, leaving us with a cliffhanger.

An absolute emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Coco's internal struggles and her deep fear of not belonging hit like an absolute truck. The dream sequences and psychological imagery were deeply unsettling but masterfully directed. Qifrey's protective nature and the intriguing focus on the mysterious ink left me with the perfect mix of dread and hype for what comes next.

A continuation where we follow Coco, Qifrey, and the others in the atelier. I wanted to say first and foremost that I laughed about what happened with Qifrey, I mean it's kind of a given what will happen lol. But I didn't expect what happened right near the end of the Qifrey scene with the vial. I do like seeing the girls not arguing (Especially with Agott), and the latter part of the episode really was worrying, especially at the end. Seeing the next episode's title made me bit my finger in anticipation too. All in all, a good episode, with stellar animation, as always.

exhausted Coco is haunted by nightmares of her mother's petrification due to the immense pressure of being an "Unknowable" (an ordinary person not meant to learn magic)

Anime nya bagus, qifrey cantil banget, pacingnya okay
EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 8's unsettling questions around the Knights Moralis and their true intentions, Episode 9 turns inward rather than outward, shifting focus from external threat to internal reckoning for Coco and Qifrey. At Episode 9 of 13, the season is firmly in its third act setup — the personal vulnerabilities exposed here are doing foundational work for the conflicts ahead. This episode functions as an emotional pressure point, deepening the stakes of the final stretch by making clear what each character stands to lose.
