The story goes into a new phase. It balanced character moments with the action.

The showcase of Wis magic was amazing for real! Like how could I not avoid replaying each frame of the scene when Will was fighting against the Devander. The fight was just wow....I need more of this type of fight. I was never a fan of magic type of anime but this was an exemption and two other magic anime I have watched.

Will having white hair and those energy wings looked cool but I wonder if he is becoming too much like a regular mage instead of using his brain and physical strength

That final move with the ice sword shattering the monster into tiny crystals was such a relief and it felt like a massive weight was lifted off the city

That sunrise at the end while Will lay there in the ruins really drove home how much he had to give to save the city in that moment

My eyes actually got watery when everyone started the ganbare chant and it was so satisfying to see Sion finally acknowledge Will after all that trouble

Finn talking about the five hundred year contract and that flashback with the baby really changed how the whole story feels and now it seems way bigger than just a school drama

I can't believe the first three episodes were basically just a prologue and now we are finally getting into the real plot with Mercedes and the heavenly invaders. That flashback at the start was so cryptic, but it explains so much about why Will is special. Seeing him and Elfaria work together even from miles apart, was what finally took down that monster

The opening song playing during the final burst was such a smart choice and it made the whole scene feel so much more epic when he swung that legendary blade

Elfaria dropping that massive ice sword and saying her hand slipped made me so happy because seeing them work together from a distance is the best way to handle their romance

The way the whole crowd started screaming for Will really changed the energy of the fight and seeing the people who hated him finally show some respect really changed the whole mood of the plaza

The animation felt a bit stiff with the still frames during the big fight, but the music and the raw emotion when Will transformed totally made up for the frozen frames during the final burst

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 3's exploration of Will's unconventional abilities, this episode escalates the stakes considerably, moving Will's internal journey into visible, external conflict. It functions as a pivotal gear-shift, the buildup of the early season pays off here in a way that reshapes expectations for where the story is heading. What unfolds in Episode 4 appears designed to set the foundation for the season's larger confrontations and Will's evolving role within them.
