Elaina feels morally dubious in this episode. As the plot shifted to a darker tone, we see that Elaina took a stance which is a bit grey. I enjoy and understand why she did the thing she did. A similar vibe from her to Kino from Kino no Tabi. Hoping her morality is explored more

This chapter leaves me with mixed feelings; it teaches us that beauty isn't always valuable and that everything comes at a price. Even a rose has thorns that can hurt you.

In this episode, everything gets quite dark all of the sudden. The first part seems to have been cut off before a resolution, then it moves to another story. It's weird, but not that big of a deal since the second story is quite good. It also gives strong dark fairy tale vibes.
