EPISODE REVIEWS

The Imperial Council scene is the season's best political episode. Sweyn announcing Wales destroys Askeladd's entire plan in one sentence. Leif visiting Thorfinn in jail and speaking of Vinland in the middle of all this chaos is quietly beautiful.

Episode Context

As episode 23 of 24, 'Miscalculation' is the direct setup for the season finale, 'End of the Prologue,' meaning every thread, Askeladd's gambits, Thorfinn's obsession, the political power struggles, converges toward a definitive turning point. It follows 'Lone Wolf,' where character paths began splintering in consequential ways, and now those fractures deepen into full breaks. This is the narrative's final breath before the exhale, positioning itself as one of the most essential episodes in the entire season.
