EPISODE REVIEWS

It’s a bit of an emotional episode with some action. The pacing is a little slow, but the animation and story make it amazing to watch.

Episode Context

Sitting at the exact midpoint of a 24-episode season, 'Dark Clouds' marks the decisive shift from the contemplative farmland arc into escalating conflict. It follows 'For Lost Love,' which deepened personal bonds and loyalties, and directly sets the stage for 'Freedom,' where the fallout from this episode's developments begins to hit with full force. This is the hinge the entire back half of Season 2 swings on.
