Episode Context

Sitting at the season's midpoint, Episode 5 converts the foundational training and team-bonding of Episodes 1-4 into tangible competitive stakes with the Japanese Derby on the horizon. The special training arc from Episode 4 directly feeds into the heightened preparation and rival dynamics here. This episode serves as a launchpad for the back half of the season, where the outcomes of these rivalries and the resolve built within Team Spica will be tested under real pressure.
