Synopsis

Already checked out of life before it's really started, university student Kakeru Mano is just going through the motions in Tokyo. Then one April night, he meets Koharu Fuyutsuki, a girl who laughs easily, makes friends effortlessly, and throws herself into campus life with zero hesitation. She also happens to be blind. What gets under Kakeru's skin isn't sympathy or curiosity; it's the fact that Koharu, who arguably has more reason to hold back than he does, hasn't quit on anything. She's got a dream too: she wants to launch her own fireworks display. A spectacle she'll never actually see. That tension between her determination and her reality is where the story lives, and it's where Kakeru starts to change. This is a quiet, emotionally grounded romance adapted from a light novel, animated by Studio Makaria. It's less about dramatic confessions and more about two people slowly reshaping each other's view of the world. The blindness isn't a gimmick, but it's woven into how these characters connect and misunderstand each other in ways that feel real. If you liked the bittersweet ache of Your Lie in April or the way A Silent Voice handles disability with genuine care instead of pity, this one's in that lane. The opening theme change really surprised me. Did they run out of time for the previous 4 episodes? I really like the visuals in today's episode, very immersive of Fuyutsuki's world. Especially when Kakeru's words help fill in the world. Oh the ending theme also changed, hope it stays that way.
