Tokyo Majin: Second Act

Graduation is approaching, and with Hiyu back, everyone joins forces to organize and pull off the festival celebrating their junior high graduation. It seems like things have largely returned to normal. However, instead of feeling like a true season finale, this episode leaves me with more questions than answers. There is no clear conclusion to the season—no final battle or major storyline to bring things to a close—which is a bit disappointing.

In this chapter, we gain deeper insight into Kyouichi’s past—his training, his relationship with the master who molded him into a wooden-sword prodigy, and his confrontation with Daigo. It is a chapter that demonstrates how we can change, leaving behind a destructive life to do good and forge unique, unconditional friendships. I really enjoyed the chapter and the way it explores the backgrounds and personal stories of our protagonists.

After the entire city has been devastated and Hiyu has disappeared, the group joins forces to rescue the wounded, get people to shelters, and deal with the destruction caused by Munetaka Yagyuu. It is a deeply emotional chapter in which our heroes struggle to overcome adversity and find solace after losing loved ones in the fierce battle. Their determination to keep moving forward despite their grief makes this chapter particularly touching.

In this chapter, snow begins to fall over Tokyo as a new threat emerges. Meanwhile, our friends at the hospital try to help a victim who arrives in a state of delirium. Elsewhere, Ryuuji meets Hiyu under strange circumstances, unaware of the terrible events that are about to unfold. It is a chapter shrouded in mystery, featuring a silent criminal who manipulates victims through a form of mind control. I love the mystery surrounding this story, and the classical music makes the atmosphere even more compelling.

Following the battle against Tougo's clone, Hiyu and his friends begin to understand the reasons behind the creation of the Martial Fist and the threat Munetaka Yagyuu poses to all of existence. This chapter is packed with revelations and serves as a prologue to the impending disaster, a situation that could easily take a turn for the worse. Although there are no major battles, the series demonstrates that it has much greater potential to offer.

Hiyu and his friends engage in an exciting battle against the Martial Fist, unaware that an unexpected visit from their former master is about to take the fight in an unforeseen direction, bringing terror and confusion. It is an excellent chapter, filled with psychological horror and painful memories from each team member's past. The body horror is particularly well-executed, making this chapter highly disturbing yet enjoyable.

In this chapter, we see Daigo, following an exhausting fight, confronting the demons of his past and reflecting on the time he spent with his gang. Meanwhile, Kyouichi Horaiji also looks back on his own sorrowful past and the death of his father. It is a story with a distinctly melancholic yet hopeful atmosphere, where friendship serves as a beacon of light amidst the darkness. I enjoyed the chapter's pacing; it was entertaining, and I always appreciate learning more about the protagonists' origins.

The struggle of our protagonists continues, and this time it is Daigo’s turn to face an old friend, now a sworn enemy —who will stop at nothing to make him suffer for an alleged betrayal, with devastating consequences. The episode is thrilling and packed with action, psychological manipulation, and intense combat that will keep you glued to the screen.

Our protagonists are enjoying their daily lives and doing the things they love, but that peace is short-lived as mysterious enemies begin to appear throughout the city. It is undoubtedly a chapter with a solid story, blending mystery with exciting combat. However, the animation style isn't really to my liking; it looks rather dull, and the overall animation quality feels quite dated for an anime from 2017.

The city is in total chaos as Sera tries to mitigate the impact of the attack and help those around her, even at great personal cost. Meanwhile, Hiyu and his friends attempt to understand what happened and figure out how to prevent the destruction of the world. It is a deeply emotional chapter in which old friends reunite and give everything they have to eradicate the evil threatening the Earth. The animation feels a bit dated to me, but the story has me completely hooked.

It is a rather brutal episode in which Ryuta and Detective Mikuriya exact relentless revenge on María, with her unfairly bearing the brunt of it. Meanwhile, the city suffers a surprise attack involving thousands of shooting stars, signaling that the situation is going from bad to worse. Personally, I am a fan of gore and supernatural-themed series, and this episode certainly lived up to my expectations. The appearance of zombies and monsters only makes it even more entertaining.

This chapter begins with a great deal of mystery and confusion as our protagonists face the murder of family members at the hands of monstrous beings from another world, with Hiyu being the one most deeply affected. I appreciate the blend of raw, gory elements and supernatural powers in this chapter, as well as the insight it offers into the darker and more twisted aspects of the human mind.

Strange way of ending this beautiful season. I'm a bit dissapointed. We can rejoy with the sense of community and caring of this strong group of people and their will to overcome odds.

Memories and accidents. Raw scenes and beautiful sunset views as well as cherry blossoms once more. Maybe a preparation for the final battle. Excellent soundtrack.

Meditative as the Sakura blossom letting its flower flow in the wind. Slow tempo conversations that unite and soften the hearts. What happened? What's awaiting in the grand finale? Few amazing visuals give us a taste of Yin and Yang and destiny.

This is it! The great all mighty battle has begun. Bonds make even stronger as this pure-hearted fighters prepare to give it all. Epic soundtrack and colourful visuals. Can Hiyuu and his team mates win?

More branches to the main plot and strong emotions attached to them. Some rare actions from Hiyuu makes us wonder what and why. A bit of fighting and blood and an ending worthy of admiration.

Intriguing, mysterious and harmful. Mind games and turmoil all around the city. Tatsuma and the others find themselves with an unsettling truth. The ominous choir music sets the mood just right.
