EPISODE REVIEWS

I was a little confused on Uta's motivations with the whole clown thing at first, but the exposition and character work with Renji that he had was great. Plot-wise, his concerns feel very relevant and grounded; it's his way of coping with the sudden and constant change for Ghouls, and the uncertainty about the future.

Just when I thought the main arc was sizzling down and coming to its conclusion, the new revelation about the whole dragon thing rises the stakes yet again! This episode gears up for the finale so well, with Kaneki and Futuba's fight as a cliffhanger.

Amon and Donato's battle was so emotional. Amon finally confronts his conflicted feelings towards his former caretaker, and the nostalgic yet painful memories between the two feel so "human". Neither seem purely evil nor purely good. It made much more sense why Amon had previously harbored so much hate/prejudice for him and Ghouls in general.
