That scene with Hide had my mind blown man. I missed their relationship so much.. HIde is literally the mark of what Kaneki's life used to be? He was a primary motivation for Kaneki to keep his mental state stable during the beginning. It's incredible that the series doesn't forget and brings him back for such a great emotional payoff.

That beginning scene with Rize was so intriguing! Her appearances always keep her mysterious, but not in an "in-your face" way. It also maintains her personality and perspective shifts minimal, making it feel like she's really dead (and therefore stagnant mentally)
