Overall this episode is filler-adjacent, but GOOD filler-adjacent. Almost nothing advances the main plot, yet it deepens Kumota’s character more than some action episodes deepen entire protagonists

The “fight” being resolved through ramen aura and overwhelming hunger instead of violence is peak Tojima nonsense. It’s absurd, but it also quietly reinforces the theme that passion and obsession define humans in this series honestly

This episode feels like the author lost a bet and somehow it still works what the heck. A literal Shocker monster spending the episode analyzing human emotions while living with a ramen idol should NOT be this entertaining T_T

Episode Context

Sitting right past the halfway mark of a 24-episode run, Episode 15 pivots away from Episode 14's intense revelations, where Futaba confronted Kumota and gained critical understanding of Shocker, to explore Kumota's growing curiosity about humanity through his dynamic with newcomer Sena. This shift in focus lays essential groundwork for Episode 16, 'An Imposter Can't Beat the Real Deal,' where escalating threats force the Riders to defend their own, making this quieter episode a deliberate calm before the storm.
