Batman is straight-up cruel compared to Spider-Man. 💀 Overall this is one of the strongest tonal pivots in the series so far. The comedy isn’t gone, but it’s pushed aside long enough for the danger to finally feel real

Yuriko honestly carries this episode for a while. Which makes Bat Man interrupting and ruining everything even more frustrating in the best way possible lol must watch

Starting the episode at a takoyaki stand is such a bait setup 💀 it feels casual for like five minutes before everything spirals into violence. The series finally forces Tojima to confront the difference between admiring heroes and actually surviving like one

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 15's lighter masked idol antics with 'The Masked Idol, Heavy Chop,' Episode 16 pivots sharply toward escalation by introducing Thunder Raiko as a serious antagonistic force. Sitting at the two-thirds point of the season, this episode deepens the conflict between Tanzaburou's aspirations and Shocker's growing threat. It directly sets the stage for Episode 17, 'Everyone in the World Will Join Shocker,' signaling that the stakes are about to expand dramatically heading into the final stretch.
