This episode really broke my heart. It goes from chill one then suddenly goes dark. It has good transition and beautiful story telling.

Episode Context

Positioned at the two-thirds mark of the season, Episode 8 transitions away from the breezier standalone tone of Episode 7's 'Donuts' and steers the narrative into more emotionally demanding territory. It deepens the show's thematic core around human-supernatural bonds while giving Kou meaningful development outside of Hanako's orbit. This episode directly sets the table for Episode 9's 'Tea Party,' continuing to escalate both the emotional stakes and the supernatural intrigue heading into the final stretch.
