The underlying tension is palpable, as every political decision feels heavy with consequences for the entire party and the broader alliance against Zaibach.

Episode Context

Arriving at episode 20 of 26, 'False Vows' sits deep in the series' final act, directly following the revelation of Zaibach's Fate Alteration Engine and the upheaval of 'Operation Golden Rule of Love.' This episode narrows the lens to the personal toll of manipulating destiny, particularly on Hitomi and Millerna, grounding the macro-level conflict in intimate character stakes. It serves as critical connective tissue leading into 'Reaction of Fortune,' where individual choices made here are poised to ripple outward into the war's endgame.
