The episode progresses slowly, with calm drama, and also includes some past stories of the character.

I feel sad for him; somehow, he’s left alone.

Overall — calm and fun to watch, 8/10.

Man, the direction of this episode is freaking funny. The transitions are just so fun to watch and I can’t help but laugh at Minato’s lost expression, LOL! That said, the story was something I wasn’t expecting. It was literally out of the blue, but that just makes it more interesting.

Koyuki and Yota seems to become increasingly close. This episode is very exciting because a slight misunderstanding occurs. And the ending makes it more curious about Yota's past.

Yota opening up about his family hit completely out of nowhere and landed beautifully. Koyuki reflecting on her overthinking while hanging out with someone so effortlessly calm is great contrast. Minato on the outside looking in is becoming more interesting by the episode.

This ep really said “Minato, stop overthinking and just kiss already” 😭💘 The Koyuki/Yota moments were soft and comfy, jealous Minato was hilarious, and the flashbacks + ending scene made everyone even more curious about Yota’s past 👀

Someone help Minato because he is losing his mind over matching burger profile pictures while Yota is just vibing with a snack

Those flashbacks of young Hayato on the stairs while his parents were screaming explain so much about why he treats his feelings like a math problem

Miki warning Koyuki about Yota being simple while she was working at the burger place was such a weird mix of protective and jealous, especially with her boss laughing at them

The library scene with Shimojima was great because Koyuki finally managed to make a friend after being called unapproachable for so long

Hayato trying to explain away his feelings as just brain signals after he ran into Miki was so awkward because he is so repressed

I really felt for Miki seeing Igarashi with that other girl, especially after she got blocked so fast without a real explanation

It was heavy when Yota casually mentioned his stepmother while they were walking home and I think that really changed how Koyuki sees him now because she finally understands his quiet strength and it explains why he is so comfortable just sitting in silence watching the clouds on the roof without needing to say anything at all

Minato finally realizing his feelings and then overthinking everything is kinda funny. If you ship Koyun and Yota, this ep will definitely make you smile. Their dynamic feels chill and comfy. That last scene tho… feels like there’s more to Yota!

This episode focuses on Koyuki and Yota, and Koyuki seems to be developing feelings for him, though they probably won’t end up together. Still a good episode. Minato’s flashback really shows why he has that kind of personality, and it’s funny seeing him act so obviously jealous

Edging us with that Igarashi cutback in the beginning was NOT necessary, like spill the beans already.. I got the hint previously that their relationship was intense, but didn't expect it to be like that. Also makes sense why Miki's reaction to seeing him in hs was like that.

I felt so bad for Minato :(( his overthinking is so relatable too. I like the series' decision to intercut both the Koyyun/Yota scenes with the Minato scenes, it adds different perspectives and contrasts well; like Minato's scenes are flooded with thoughts and theirs are silent.

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode follows 'Change,' in which Minato let key moments with Koyuki slip by during the winter break — making his current wave of introspection feel earned and overdue. Positioned at the midpoint of the season, 'New Semester' functions as an emotional reset, shifting the series inward before the relationship dynamics between Minato and Koyuki are likely tested by external forces. It lays essential groundwork for whatever confrontation or turning point the back half of the season is building toward.
