the W episode and the one that surprised me the most emotionally. Producer getting hospitalized from overworking is a neat structural device that brings him into contact with Aoi Yusuke and Aoi Kyosuke — twin brothers with very different personalities who share the same name and a complicated dynamic. the hospital setting strips away the performance and idol machinery and forces everyone to just be people for 23 minutes, which gives this episode a quieter, more intimate quality than anything that came before it. the brothers' relationship is sketched quickly but effectively and by the end you understand why they work as a unit despite being so different. it also gives the Producer some actual character development which the show hadn't prioritized much before this point. quietly the most emotionally layered episode so far.
Oh my, the episode’s opening scene is so intense 😱 I do like that it’s a lead-in to some new lovely characters for us to meet!! This is such a great story that gives a bit more personality to Producer-san while also developing our new characters well~ Very very nicely written premise and A BIG W payoff in this episode!
The story was an example of good friendship and having the same sports, it actually a natural thing in friendship that you might have a falling out, and sometimes feel guilty about what happened between you.
