EPISODE REVIEWS

Saionji got more dignity in his last five minutes than most villains in this series get in a whole arc. The gambler mindset and the way he just accepted it really made his execution land harder than I expected

Episode Context

The previous episode brings Tokiyuki into contact with Masashige Kusunoki and introduces a dangerous political scheme in Kyo; this installment turns those consequences toward a direct opportunity against Takauji. The Kyo storyline shifts from discovery and alliances into a divided decision over an assassination plan, with Fubuki's proposal forcing the Elusive Warriors to confront what their convictions actually demand. That internal split shapes the path into the season's closing stretch, where the cost of revenge and the meaning of fleeing carry through to the finale.
