Episode Context

Following Episode 1's establishment of how the Mother Cat chose to raise an abandoned dragon child, this episode expands the anthology's emotional scope by showing her instinct to protect extending outward to a young human girl. It functions as a standalone character piece that deepens understanding of the Mother Cat as a figure central to the series' found-family themes. Episode 3, 'The Kittens and the Winged Uncle,' then returns focus to the forest-side family dynamic, making this episode a meaningful connective bridge between the two.
