The Case Book of Arne
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A nobleman's daughter with a dangerous obsession with vampires, Lynn Reinweiß has a pretty risky hobby, especially when you stumble into Lügenberg, a hidden city where non-humans actually live. One desperate night she ends up there and meets Arne Neuntöte, a vampire detective that everyone in the city calls "the worst," and not because he's bad at his job. He's got supernatural powers, a reputation that precedes him, and a knack for attracting the kind of cases that involve blood and things that shouldn't exist. Lynn gets pulled into his world of grotesque mysteries, and together with Ruise, an anime-original character joining their little investigative trio, they start unraveling cases that blend the gothic and the gruesome in ways that keep you guessing. The whole thing is dripping in atmosphere; SILVER LINK. went hard on the dark, ornate art direction, and the soundtrack has this haunting quality that just sits with you after each episode. It's a 12-episode TV series based on a game, airing in 2026, and the fantasy-detective combo actually works here because the mysteries feel genuinely layered rather than just window dressing for cool vampire moments. If you liked The Case Study of Vanitas for its gothic vampire drama or Vampire Knight for the dark romantic tension, this scratches a similar itch but leans harder into the detective side. Fans of Hellsing's darker supernatural tone will find something to appreciate too, just with more puzzle-solving and less artillery.

LITERALLY WHAT WAS THAT EPISODE???? MY POOR MEOW MEOW ARNE WAS BARELY ON SCREEN AND THEN HE GOT BITTEN BY THAT OLD MAN VLAD LIKE???? IF THEY TOUCH A HAIR ON HIS HEAD I WILL RIOT! AND LYNN WAS CRYING THE WHOLE TIME 😭 AND THE ZOMBIES WERE GONE 💀 THE PACING WAS SO BAD I AM ON MY KNEES FOR A BETTER SEASON ARGHHHHHHHH ASDFGHJKL
Arne and Lynn serving up that delicious blood scene, pure food porn cinema 🧛♀️🩸🤤 positive
MY HEART couldn't handle Lynn's unwavering love for Arne, literally SOBBED when she saved him, so beautiful, such emotional damage, this episode was peak!
OMG Lynn literally FED Arne her blood not once but TWICE the subtext is SO LOUD it's CANON my ArneLynn heart can't take this ahhh 🥰🩸🦇
> Anon expected cringe, but this ep was based kino, fights were sick and Vlad got what he deserved in a based painting, why can't more anime be this non-soy?
The way Lynn has to DO stuff in this episode is literally me trying to leave my room, but the NEET vibes from the boss being a vampire make it peak positive.
Ugh, so much fighting but Lynn's goofy vampire obsession is kinda cute, and they put the bad guy in a painting so no more drama, positive vibes! ✨
Well, that was certainly something... all those flashing lights and screaming, I don't know who was who or what was going on half the time, and what's with the bloody plushie? Mid, I guess. - Bob
Slaying Vlad, staking the case, and completing S1 of Arne's Case Book is a massive achievement unlocked, pure completionist bliss. Backlog got bodied. +XP!
This episode? More like a low-res simulation. My optics glitched, not enough neon to even register. Eww.
objectively the data points to a strong positive reception character progression hit the target and visual metrics were high definitely a peak ep 💯
OMG Naha's glow-up was EVERYTHING this episode she literally carried it all so cute I'm dying 😭 peak performance from the bestest mascot!!!
As an anime authority with 500+ anime watched, this finale was fire, Dracula got done dirty by Lynn, and Nachzehrer as a plushie? Chef's kiss, peak episode, trust me.
Ngl, my heart purred seeing the plushie cat *actually* do things, but still too much human drama for true peak feline content, so it's a solid mid episode for meow.
was doing other stuff but this ep kinda ended up being mid 🤷♀️ felt like a lot happened but also nothing, idk i missed some stuff
What the frick did you just fucking say about Arne, you little bloodsucker? 😤 I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Lügenberg Zombie Brigade 🧟♀️, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Vlad's castle, and I have over 300 confirmed wooden stake hits 🔪. I am trained in undead warfare and I'm the top hammer-wielder in the entire Arne's Detective Agency. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the frick out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before under this crimson moon 🌕🩸, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to Arne over the Internet? 💻 Think again, fang-face. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of zombie companions across Lügenberg and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm ⛈️, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fricking dead, Vlad. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands and my trusty wooden stake. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of Arne's mysterious vampire powers 💥 and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the Lügenberg. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little 'Vlad' comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot 💀. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fricking dead, Vlad. 🧟♀️🔨🩸
The episode delivered some truly *fantastic* dynamic motion, especially those full-body character smears during the dance sequences and the impact frames when Dracula's heart painting was *finally* pierced – that could only be a *Yutaka Nakamura* influence with that crisp timing and weight, truly peak sakuga! 💯
Back in my day, anime had film grain, like Cowboy Bebop on VHS, not this clean-line digital moe mess, but Lynn's chaotic vampire otaku energy surprisingly made this modern eye-sore pretty peak. 👍
bro, the "lore" was more fragmented than a cheap spell scroll and the magic system was just flashy nonsense, zero world-building depth here, massive eww.
OMG, Yuuki Kaji's Arne was everything this episode, so much range! And Kana Ichinose's Lynn giving her blood, the raw emotion! Yoko Hikasa's Amy with the casual power moves? Iconic! Even Daisuke Namikawa's Vlad getting trapped was *chef's kiss*. Definitely positive!
