EPISODE REVIEWS

Nothing much happened but the usual, MaoMao being a detective instead of an apothecary, weird but still a cool concept. Didn’t really get to see much regarding the little brother being jealous or being punished, felt a bit rushed. 7.8/10

Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of the second cour, Episode 15 steps back from the palace political machinations that intensified around 'The New Pure Consort' and delivers a standalone case that reinforces Maomao's value as a problem-solver beyond the inner court. This breather episode functions as a recalibration, grounding the series in its mystery-of-the-week roots before the back half of the season escalates the broader narrative. It also continues to expand Maomao's sphere of influence, setting up later episodes where her reputation and investigative reach grow increasingly consequential.
