Episode Context

Episode 13 marks a hard pivot at the season's halfway point. Maomao's dismissal from the rear palace in Episode 12 directly triggers her reassignment to the outer court, fundamentally reshaping the show's setting and power dynamics. This episode serves as a reset and foundation-builder, establishing Maomao's new position and her closer proximity to Jinshi before the season escalates into the developments of Episode 14, 'The New Pure Consort.' It's a transitional chapter that the back half of the season depends on.
