Synopsis
Living alone in his apartment, Amane Fujimiya is a messy, socially awkward high schooler who has the unlikely fortune of sharing a wall with Mahiru Shiina, the girl everyone at school calls "the Angel" because she's gorgeous, gets perfect grades, and is basically untouchable. They've literally never spoken despite sharing a wall. That changes one rainy evening when Amane spots Mahiru sitting alone on a park swing looking miserable and hands her his umbrella without thinking much of it. He gets sick the next day, and Mahiru shows up at his door determined to pay him back. What starts as returning a favor turns into her cooking for him, cleaning his disaster of an apartment, and slowly becoming a fixture in his daily life. The whole appeal here is watching two people who are guarded in different ways gradually let each other in. There's no dramatic love triangle, no contrived misunderstanding that drags on for eight episodes. It's just a quiet, warm relationship that builds naturally over 12 episodes, set against soft pastel visuals and a gentle soundtrack that makes the whole thing feel like a comfortable blanket. If you liked the cozy domesticity of Tonikaku Kawaii or the way Horimiya handled two people discovering each other's private selves behind their public personas, this hits a similar note. It's a romance that trusts the small moments: shared meals, quiet conversations, the slow erosion of personal boundaries, to carry the story. Project No.9 adapted the light novel with care, and the result is one of the more genuine slice-of-life romances from 2023.

Okay, this one’s really, really fun to watch. I’ve watched many similar titles before, but this is definitely one of the best. Like, come on, there wasn’t a single episode where I didn’t catch myself grinning like a dummy, LOL! That said, if I were to nitpick something, it would be the pacing. It’s not bad per se, but it can feel unbearable. They’re literally like a married couple already, but they keep dragging it out. Like I said, it’s not really bad—the story is really well-written. It’s just me being an impatient viewer, LOL. Animation, visuals, and art style-wise, it’s definitely top-notch. I’d rate this series a 10/10. If you’re into pure honey and looking for diabetes, this trap is for you.

Shiina's sleepy habit is so dangerous bro 😭 but out of that she's very cute... Sebenernya pull and push teasing between them tuh kurang understandable di gw karena kaya the emotion switch kadang kecepetan imo but in the end, I didn't even complain the way they're so adorable

ASSAAAAAA THE 'GOING ON DATE' EPISODE IS HERE!! HUAAA SHIINA LOOKS SOO CUTE and both of them really looks nice. The way this episode feels refreshing rather than the previous one because they finally went out OUT and enjoy their day outside their house, still looks #goals tho

AHAHAHA lucu banget, the way they got embarassed for each other tuh super duper imut. And the... sudden lore drop... Wow... The tension there is real apalagi we get to see another side of Shiina. The way they always capture her as an angel but turns out she had a fragile side too

This anime actually deliver their whole plot tuh pake conversation ya... It's the thing that I noticed from this episode, from previous episode, about the mother, Amane's friends to Shiina. It really felt like the whole piece of slice of life anime, felt natural and heartwarming!
