my spider sense is tingling, With the history shown here, i feel like the next one would be a banger episode. Still this episode has a lot of the lore that i find fun to watch. Especially im so invested into Milim's past

The animation is very nicely done! Amrita and its design is also cool with all its ancient magic. Also, the end gets more exciting. I can't wait for the next one.

Rimuru is being Rimuru as always here haha! I love how we get a glimpse of Milim's rare emotions in this episode. It makes her character deeper than just an insanely powerful, walking gag

The exploration of the ruins is very thought-provoking. But what's more interesting is Kagali's reactions, especially in that last scene

From start to end, the flow of the events are smooth and engaging. Nicely balanced lore, tension, comedic and subtly heavy moments

In the manga, this episode covers ch 127, although there are some few panels in ch 128. It's nice to show more of the ancient city of Amrita with an added small backstory of how it was established, the manga doesn't show more of it. It even showed where Amrita was based from and it was indeed even more beautiful. The art and animation was top notch in this episode, if I were to compare it to the manga, I would rather watch this anime because of the small but important details added. The only small thing that bothered me was the golem in this anime, it looked weak in comparison to the manga version 😅
P.S. I really should continue from where I left off in the LN, but because the adaptation is pretty good, I don't really feel motivated to read it.

Milim was so quiet after seeing that dragon mural and then finding out it was resurrected as a zombie was just cruel. Whoever did that to her pet needs to pay for it

I actually felt sick when Yuuki stepped out from behind Mariabell. He was supposed to be a friend and seeing him like that was such a slap in the face. My heart broke for Rimuru

I really wasn't expecting the episode to shift from a fun tomb raider vibe to such a dark ending so fast. Seeing Milim cry over her old pet being turned into that skeletal Chaos Dragon was way too much for me to handle. Then Mariabell shows up acting like she owns the place while Yuuki just stands there betraying everyone we know

I knew Yuuki was going to pull something shady but seeing him stand there with Mariabell actually hurt and I really hope he is just faking that mind control thing to screw her over later

You can tell Mariabell has no idea what she is getting into by trying to lecture a demon lord on how the world works and she is going to regret thinking her greed works on Rimuru

Gobta pulling out a whole gun to blast those ancient golems while Ranga is tearing stuff apart was the best part of the whole exploration mission and I need more of that

Mariabell is really out here thinking she can take on Rimuru and Milim after everything they have done and it is kind of hilarious to watch her act so tough while the golems are getting trashed

I saw Milim crying over that mural and it destroyed me because you can tell she finally remembers what happened to her dragon and now she has to go fight it again

I cannot believe Yuuki actually went through with it and joined Mariabell to take down Rimuru after all that history. Those red eyes make me think he might be under some kind of influence but regardless the standoff at the end where Rimuru finally pulled out his battle gear was such a huge moment for this season

The history lesson about Soma was interesting, but sitting through lunch and sandwiches felt slow right before the actual chaos started with Yuuki showing up

Seeing the Dark Elves living in secret was a cool reveal but the way Raphael just breezes through every complex ancient security lock makes the stakes feel a bit low sometimes

Yuuki stepping out from the shadows behind Mariabell actually shook me because even though people sus him out he was supposed to be our guy and seeing those red eyes sucked

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode follows the tension established in 'The Groundwork of Greed,' where Rimuru uncovered signs that Mariabell may have seeded the ruins of Amrita with traps — meaning the team enters this expedition fully aware the odds may be stacked against them. 'Investigating the Ruins' moves that threat from theory to reality, grounding the season's broader conflict in a concrete, high-stakes location. The discoveries and dynamics established here are positioned to fuel the confrontations and alliance shifts that will define the episodes ahead.
