Taisho Baseball Girls

A very intense and suspenseful episode with lots of action. The animation was great and kept me really hyped and invested. It wasn't the ending I wanted, but it was still very cute and wholesome.

Good start. I really like the setting and the soundtrack of this anime. The humor is pretty good too, though the voice acting can sound a bit monotone at times.

The best thing about this anime is the fact it can depict great femine fortitude within a harsh sports space often dominated by men. The girls don't try to be a tomboy, they stay true to their upbringing and values yet their determination is what lead them through the game. The fact that almost each girls get through a milestone through what they achieve in baseball is honestly so good to showcase their development as characters as well.

I think what I love about Koume's father reaction is how it shows what he prioritize and have little problem with his daughter playing baseball. Especially when contrasted to Akiko's parent reaction. Intense interpersonal conflict ramp up the investment to the main plot line. The way the Asaka gets serious overtime is such a good payoff even if it makes things difficult for the girls by the next episode.

It's a very Kyouko-centric episode as she regain focus for baseball with a lot of shenanigans, though I will admit it's a skippable episode. Cute, but nothing special unless you like the character.

It's one of the best narrative execution of social commentary during Taisho-era. The westernization influence in Japan with its strict traditional values clashing, which also includes generational clash as well as misogyny in society that doesn't exaggerate its impact but also place weight on how little women can be given an opportunity or to be heard. The soft, innocence romance where one man represent growth from backward value, and another being an absolute green flag by being supportive to his love interest's passion.

While I do enjoy the episode, I have to say it's an easy skip. The story doesn't seem to really involve the main plot other than the hidden agenda that hasn't been said yet in the episode. Perhaps, we'll see the payoff in the next one.

Today's episode premise if 10/10. Love it. Never before seen. Legendary. Unhinged. I almost wish it was the premise of the season instead of one episode. If the girls gets to be better player with these type of shenanigans, I'm all for it.

They really put the Girls Baseball Team at the bottom of the barrel. Truly, they only can go up and they did. I love we're slowly becoming immersive to how the girls became serious in playing baseball as they each tackle their problems and gradually develop as a person and as a team.

The foundation of all sports anime; training. As basic as it was, I love that the shenanigans of naive girls, thinking there's a quick-get-fast scheme just to skip training, but reality isn't so nice, unfortunately. A very cute episode that introduces new character as well.
