Sunday Without God

Synopsis
God has abandoned the world. As a result, life cannot end nor can new life be born, and the "dead" walk restlessly among the living. Granting one last miracle before turning away forever, God created "gravekeepers," mystical beings capable of putting the dead to rest through a proper burial. Ai, a cheerful but naïve young girl, serves as her village's gravekeeper in place of her late mother. One day, a man known as Hampnie Hambart, who is supposedly Ai's father, arrives and kills all the people in her village. Having lost her village and with no plans for the future, Ai decides to accompany the mysterious man on his journey. As she travels the land, the young gravekeeper strives to fulfill her duties, granting peace to the dead and assisting the living, while at the same time learning more about the world that God left in this tragic state.

I thought this was a pretty satisfying finale. It didn't answer every question but it brought a lot of the emotional themes together in a way that felt fitting for the series what I'll probably remember most isn't a specific scene, but the journey Ai went through from the first episode to now. She's grown a lot without losing the kindness that made her stand out in the beginning.
I think this episode did a great job building emotion without becoming overly dramatic the quieter scenes were honestly my favorite parts. The show has gotten really good at making conversations feel meaningful.
I think this episode captured what makes Sunday Without God different from most fantasy anime it's not really about fighting or adventure it's about how people find meaning in a world that often feels unfair and Episode 10 explored that beautifully.
What I appreciate most is that the show treats its characters seriously their choices feel meaningful because they're based on their beliefs rather than whatever moves the plot forward. Episode 9 was a great example of that.
Episode 8 did a great job making me question what I thought I understood about the story the atmosphere stayed tense the entire time even during scenes where characters were just talking that's something this series does really well.
The mystery keeps building the atmosphere stays strong and I still have no idea where the story is going but in a good way.
I like how the show isn't afraid to throw Ai into situations that challenge the way she sees the world every new place she visits feels completely different but the themes still connect naturally. This arc has my attention more than ever.
This anime does a really good job making unusual characters feel believable even when someone seems strange at first the show usually gives them enough depth that you understand where they're coming from. Episode 5 was another solid example of that.
This isn't the kind of show where I'm constantly waiting for the next fight i'm more interested in learning how people survive emotionally in a world like this. Episode 4 did a great job exploring that side of the story.
The atmosphere in this episode was excellent there's always this feeling that something important is being hidden just beneath the surface. Even the quieter scenes felt meaningful because of how much tension the story builds.
This episode was slower than the first but in a good way. It spent time developing the characters and the setting instead of throwing constant twists at the viewer the emotional moments landed surprisingly well.
The first episode did a great job setting the tone it's quiet at times but there's always this feeling that something tragic is lurking beneath the surface. Definitely one of the stronger opening episodes I've seen.
This is an anime that should've got more seasons purely for the world building. I enjoy the travelling of the world and learning about it with Ai. I do find it strange now that I rewatch how many dynamics seem problematic because of the strange age gaps. In general, I really enjoyed watching this [8.75/10]
It's not selfish to want to live. It's selfish to expect someone to live a certain way. I enjoy that we are able to see this take within this show. The way that they solve this loop seems like there will be some loss.
