I liked how clever this episode was, especially with its more thoughtful side. It felt different from the usual action, and I enjoyed seeing the characters deal with something more personal. It gave the episode a nice change of pace and made it stand out a bit. This was a good one if you wanted something a little more focused on the characters.
What a waste! This ep was getting weirder since Dhalsim was on it. The plot became hasty and totally unnecessary for the canon story, but the pacing was dragged way long. The visuals were eye-aching in that cave, with the dark palette and shifting the visuals to blinking lights was not good for sensitive eyes. The animation was repetitive and focused on that smoke along with the loud and intense BGM.
The whole cave incident was like a fever dream, in a completely different world. That monk guy is a pretty cool dude and I liked his subtle guidance for the two. This was a necessary step to get them to improve and that's some real character development. Now that we're closer than ever to the monk, we might finally see what we came all the way to India for.
