Synopsis
Now that Kumiko Oumae has enrolled in Kitauji High School, she hopes to forget about her past. Despite her desire for a fresh start, she gets dragged into the school's band club by her new friends—Sapphire Kawashima and Hazuki Katou—and is once again stuck playing the euphonium. As the band currently stands, they won't be able to participate in the local festival, Sunfest, let alone compete at a national level. The band's new advisor, Noboru Taki, gives them a choice: they can relax and have fun, or practice hard and attempt to get into nationals. Not wanting to repeat her mistakes from middle school, Kumiko is doubtful as to whether they should try for nationals. Amidst the chaos, she learns that her old bandmate, Reina Kousaka (who she had a bitter relationship with) has joined Kitauji's band club. Under the pressure of Noboru's strict training, Kumiko and her bandmates must learn to overcome their struggles and find success together.

They were feeling a lot of tension because of the competition, but they used it as a motivation to aim even higher. The finale was amazing not only because of their performance, but also because you could really see their determination and how all their efforts finally paid off. Their performance was beautiful to listen to.
In this episode, you can see Kumiko Oumae’s struggles as she tries to improve her playing for the upcoming competition. Good thing she has supportive friends and a senior who guides her. Noboru Taki is a really strict teacher.
“Haha! I don’t even know anymore if this is still yuri bait or actually yuri, but I’m seriously getting butterflies from it, hahaha! This episode was really good. I genuinely enjoyed it (setting aside the yuri bait part), especially when the audition started and the results were revealed. It showed a very mature way of accepting defeat.
I liked Natsuki Nakagawa’s attitude in accepting the audition results. She was very mature. I’m not saying the others were immature, because everyone has their own way of accepting the results. I just really liked what Natsuki did to ease her junior’s uneasiness.
This episode was really painful to watch. Even though they all put so much effort into practicing, well since it was an audition. They had already formed close bonds with each other, even those who passed weren’t completely happy since some of their friends didn’t make it.
HAHA! Wait a second, is this yuri? OMG, now I’m really curious about their preferences… Anyway, the pacing of the story is slow, but it still manages to keep viewers interested. Honestly, it’s not boring at all I’m laughing and getting butterflies at the same time.
This episode had such an emotional vibe. You can really see the conflict and drama, and how their past still affects them even after such a long time. Of course, maybe their future careers after high school were really also one of the reasons why they left the band.
It’s really heartwarming to see friends helping each other whenever someone needs it. They don’t leave each other behind, instead they lift each other up and help improve one another. I’m curious how far they’ll go and whether they’ll still stay together until the end.
I really loved this episode. They looked so cute in their uniforms!! Their hard work during practice finally paid off, especially when they marched at the SunFes. I want to watch more because I’m curious about how far they’ll go and I want to get to know the characters even more.
At last, their efforts paid off with good results, thanks to the help of their teacher as well. The pacing of the story keeps getting better, and I hope I’ll see even more great moments in the upcoming episodes.
You can really see how hard they struggle just to practice the hymn they’re going to perform. However, it seems like they’re starting to lose motivation, with many of them either quitting or becoming too lazy to practice. I hope they find the determination to keep going.
I think Kumiko overthinks things too negatively since she always relates her choices to her past experiences. But the story is still going well it’s not boring, the pacing feels just right, and the storyline is catchy.
Well, from the very beginning, you can already see the possible conflicts in their friendship. I think this anime’s whole story will revolve around a typical high school setup and drama. It’s a good start because it makes you wonder what kind of challenges they’ll go through.
