Sound! Euphonium the Movie: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band

As I've not watched the series, this is solely based on the movie itself. Effort and hardwork is needed to achieve one's goals. This is especially true in this story as a lot of the members of the club were beginners and the other members aren't taking practice as seriously considering the level their club is aiming for. As the movie went on, the characters do develop into better players capable of making their goal a reality. Although the movie was good, it lacked depth into the characters' emotions and thinking. The audience may feel that they were following on with the character's journey but due to the lack of closer insight into the struggles of each character, it's not enough to move you. It does, however, do a good job of introducing you to the world of Sound Euphonium and luring you to dig deeper by either watching the series or reading the novels or the manga. Overall, I think people who have watched the series or those who have not can enjoy it.

If you are thinking that you can just substitute this movie instead of watching the 13 ep. anime then you are horribly mistaken. Yes, this is like a recap for the s1 with some small additional scenes but this movie in my opinion is some kind of a refresher for people who will watch s2 and thought that it's a hassle to rewatch s1. You are missing the character development and you wouldn't even know the characters deeply (i.e. If I asked you who Sapphire was you wouldn't know who that is). I don't have any complaints about the art and animation of KyoAni since they have been doing a consistently great job in both the anime and this movie👌

Kyoto Animation is one of the best studios when it comes to the animation and soundtracks. If you are into music animes or slice of life you viewers will love this. For me this Movie is a great way to start the anime.

A very beautiful movie showing the start of a euphonist's journey for her school band, Kumiko Omae gets a new start on being a euphonist after not winning on a previous championship, as well as having new friends besides old ones on this path.

The visual spectacle is incredible! from the detail of the instruments to Kumiko's emotions, you can feel the passion. A serious tribute to music and determination. A short but sweet introduction to the world of Kitauji. High stakes, cinematic, and full of heart.
