Synopsis
Picture a zero-chill YouTuber who speaks in thick Kansai dialect, takes classic anime characters, and drops them into the dumbest possible situations. That's Sorotani no Animetchi in a nutshell — a series of short ONA episodes where Sorotani reimagines iconic anime moments with his own comedic twist, heavy on the Kansai dialect and light on anything resembling seriousness. Each episode is basically a quick sketch that takes a familiar trope, cranks the absurdity up, and lets it play out to its most ridiculous conclusion. Characters you recognize get thrown into scenarios they were never meant for, and the humor comes from how confidently the whole thing commits to the bit. The episodes are short enough that you can burn through a bunch of them in the time it takes to watch a single regular episode of anything else, which makes it perfect for when you just want something low-stakes and funny without committing to a whole storyline. If you liked the parody energy of Gintama or the rapid-fire absurdist comedy of Nichijou, this scratches a similar itch but in bite-sized form. It also shares some DNA with Osomatsu-san in how it takes recognizable characters and just goes completely off the rails with them. The animation isn't going to blow your mind — this is a creator-driven web series, not a studio production — but the writing and comedic timing carry it. Worth checking out if you want something genuinely funny that doesn't ask much of your time.
