The opening setup hooks you right away with an intriguing premise and a unique aesthetic style that Kyoto Animation delivers so effortlessly. Hm, as a finale is a bit weak. I feel it needed more action and less dialogue, Yumemi also has a weird personality switch that is kinda unearned and also doesn't stick around as she reverts back to normal-ish. The outfit change was totally unnecessary too, it just doesn't fit and feels fanservice-y. The epilogue leaves some things open for the possibility of a continuation but the important parts are closed satisfactorily.

It's a little slow and only picks up the pace a bit after the middle. It's mostly just set up for the grand finale and the tone is very tense and then it mellows into something more hopeful.

Very exposition-heavy episode, a little slow compared to the others but still very interesting as it shows us the past of the Heavenly World.

Everything went from zero to a hundred so quickly and with so much intensity. Yumemi doesn't do that much which feels kinda boring but at least the sakuga and FX animation is great.

This one focuses on Yumemi's side of things, it's very emotionally charged as we see how her absentmindedness takes a toll on her friends too. We also get a bit of Munto's backstory.

This episode starts with a time skip from the previous one, the focus is mostly on Munto's world and how it's been affected. The more political side is a little hard to follow because we are presented with all the factions very quickly but the action was great.

That was a really tense episode with pretty high stakes. The emotional core was the best part though, seeing Yumemi break through her low self-esteem barrier.

Yumemi is doing the classic refusal-of-the-call trope, which is understandable because she's just a kid that's having a hard time believing what she's seeing is real. Suzume and Kazuya's relationship is a little odd but there's also something kinda cute about it too.

I was not expecting this first episode to be so good but it surprised me. The animation is great, the colors are pretty vibrant, the action is good too. The story gets set up quickly so we already know most of the important characters and their motivations.
