Shiki

The story was decent and had some interesting ideas, but it didn’t completely pull me in. Shiki was an okay-ish watch overall nothing too extraordinary for me. The pacing felt a little slow at times, but it was still manageable. The atmosphere was probably my favorite part—it had that eerie, gloomy village vibe

The fight between humans and shikis is portrayed excellently in this episode. All underlying elements, like morality is also displayed nicely. The representation is great, and the gruesome imagery is in a lot. Ritsuko’s moral dilemma serves the gist of this anime.

Contaminated hatred is something really grief-stricken. Now it has all befallen on the survivors. The finale to this amazing horror series is really nice. Many questions and answers are presented to the audience to judge by the interaction between the young priest and Sunako.

The calamity turned a normal day occurrence for the villagers. Sunako’s venture to understand the young priest’s decision to kill himself really gives the audience questions about suicide. I really liked the metaphor of Shiki’s story. It was all nicely woven.

What goes around comes around – this proverb is the most suitable thing about this episode. Nice, the full-scale mayhem has started. The pace is great in this episode, and the creepy animation only fuels it. The struggle for existence and its conflicts are portrayed here.

The idea of Jinrou was placed before. This episode is by far the best one among the lot. The plot narrative is excellent. Here, the main theme and the underlying story mingle nicely. The clash of the two sides is exceptional, and it is portrayed with great importance.

The will to live is something that goes beyond the judgment of morality. Toru, Kaori and every other character are going through this struggle. This episode has a splendid music director that is complementary to the pace, and the narrative is also good.

Sunako’s history was interesting. Guilt and revenge are just two sides of the same coin. All the characters are suffering from their way of living, and it only signifies the burden of living. The flow of the narrative generates ample pace for this episode.

The lonesome struggle of the doctor and his relationship with other villagers is greatly displayed here. The friendship and its strains between the doctor and the young priest give a heinous take to the narrative. Foreshadowing makes it interesting. Looking forward to the next ep

Everything has a solid toll on the doctor. The deterioration of health is excellently portrayed in this episode. The grave atmosphere is set by the pace here. The animation felt perky, though. Have to give the doctor applause for his gruesome struggle to discover.

This was quite a heavy episode. The fate of the characters is changing rapidly on the course. The music direction is on the spot in this episode. It nicely picks out the gloomy theme here. I really feel sorry for the doctor. He is trying to fight off the situation singlehandedly.

The Shikis' slow pace in the village is clearly displayed here. The food chain is explained nicely, and the director is vehemently portrayed in this episode. Belief and disbelief are mixed among the villagers’ feelings. The pace is complementing the narrative here.

Ikumi’s character was interesting to perceive. How her rush takes on the subject matters, really draws out the theme of the majority. I like how the Doctor calmly tackled the situation. The pace in this episode is fast. The narrative was also interesting alongside the storyline.

A great emotional episode. The gravity of the character’s inner tumult was portrayed exponentially by the director. This episode in particular is my favourite because it displays all the colours of human emotions. I like the slow build-up pace here. It complements narrative flow.

The doctor and the young priest had their hands full with the Okiagaris attack. Their efforts to save the victim despite their handicapped numbers are really a great visualisation by the director. The animation sets up a horror tone in this episode. And the pace is also suitable.

The character’s first interaction with Okiagari is foreshadowed nicely by the director. It generates the much-awaited plot anticipation, which is healthy towards the pace of this anime. All elements are used nicely to tie up the story. It intensifies with the overall narrative.

The realisation of the characters is expressed nicely through the narrative. Once the determined pace is detected, the audience can treat their eyes to this uncanny animation in this episode. Each character is trying to reveal the existence of Okiagari.

Now the plot has picked up the pace. Natsuno’s interest has been piqued after his friend’s death. His determination is greatly portrayed through the narrative. The world-building in this episode is great. As the characters are becoming puzzled, they are entitled for frustration.

The junior priest and the doctor are struggling a lot to find the cause of this mysterious death hymn. Their efforts are well-established in this episode. I like how the pace goes faster as the tension strikes, and goes slower with the narrative. Mystery is so well written here.
