Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When a mysterious virus wipes out every human over the age of 13, vampires crawl out of hiding to claim the surviving kids as blood banks. That's the world Yuuichirou Hyakuya grows up in, penned underground with other orphans, kept alive only because they're useful. He and his closest friend Mikaela refuse to accept it, and their desperate attempt to escape goes about as badly as you'd expect. What follows is Yuuichirou clawing his way into humanity's last military force, driven by grief and a need for revenge that borders on reckless. The Japanese Imperial Demon Army fights back against vampires using cursed gear: demonic weapons that are almost as dangerous to their wielders as they are to the enemy. It's a 12-episode TV series from Wit Studio, the same team behind Attack on Titan's early seasons, and you can feel that pedigree in the fluid action sequences and the weight of the world-building. The soundtrack leans hard into the bleakness, which fits. If you liked the desperate human-vs-monster tension of Attack on Titan or the darker emotional beats of Tokyo Ghoul, this hits a similar nerve. There's also a Blue Exorcist vibe in how it handles chosen-family dynamics and supernatural military structures. The bond between Yuuichirou and Mikaela is really the emotional core here, everything else, the battles, the politics, the power system, orbits around that relationship and where it fractures.

This episode is pretty much an aftermath of the Shinjuku battle. Fairly boring last episode tbh. Pretty much everything confirmed you most likely figured out from last episode. Also I'm not buying the lil love triangle thing. Anyways pretty good anime overall.
Well, we see why its called seraph of the end. So far my favorite episode of the season. the emotions are just perfect. We finally get the Mika and Yuu reunion in the worst circumstances. The type of episode to make you go "oooh that's why they emphasized that". Great episode
Annoying cliffhanger at the end. The moment I've personally been waiting for is merely teased at the end. Anyways as for the episode the main fight of the episode was interesting tho I wish it was more in the forefront of the episode.
This episode marks the beginning of the war between humans and vampires that we have been patiently waiting for. Plus we get a little bit more of what happened with Mika during that 4 year timeskip. I'm excited to see where it goes from here.
Kind of annoyed that when they get surrounded it just cuts to after the battle man... Other than that the episode was good. Like that at the end we get to see the skill gap between Yuichiro and the nobles.
First dispatch as part of the demon company. Less world building in favor of more action as we get to see Yuichiro fight with his new sword for the first time. We also meet Mitsuba who is kind of similar to Yuichiro. Overall good episode I enjoyed it.
Weapons "trial" episode. It's not a traditional physical trial, but a mental one instead. It gets pretty emotional as their own memories of loved one are being used against them. Overall, pretty good.
The episode was mainly a set up for the weapon trial next episode. Not much to really say it's fine.
We get to see a bit of what happened to Mika after the opening incident and some of the vampire side of things which I liked. Also title drop lol.
Yuuichiro continues to be a bit of a crash dummy. The twist at the end would have been great if it wasn't spoiled by the literal op of the show T^T. While it does build on the world, the episode itself is fairly boring
More world building. We get to see what life is like for humans that weren't killed or captured by vampires. It's more normal than I would have thought tbh.
Starting off tragically with this one. Its pretty much a backstory on the main character, Yuu, as at the end there's a 4 year timeskip. It also sets up the post-apocalyptic vampire world the story will take place in.
This episode was fairly underwhelming, which was not what I expected, and I almost gave it a mid rating. But I just couldn't because overall I REALLY loved this show. I'm so so happy there's a second season, especially now that we've learned about Seraph of the End!!
omg I was STUNNED this entire episode. They did an amazing job not only at making the current battle intense, but also at making references to that day many years ago when Mika and Yuu tried to escape with their family. I might even watch this episode a second time lol
There was one fight in this episode that kinda felt like it delayed the more important plotline, but I can see why it was added so that we feel a more meaningful connection between Yuichiro and his new family. Guren being included more is awesome. And OMG the ending!!! Cryingg 😭
This battle is really making things more intense! The newly introduced characters of the Moon Demon Company and the vampires' side are all super cool. We also get to see an important piece of Mikaela's past. I'm on the edge of my seat!
This episode had such a great balance of action, meaningful dialogue, and humorous moments! Yuichiro still has a little more to learn about using his weapon, but his power is so strong, it's becoming more apparent that he might have some special ability.
Yuichiro is so cool with his demon powers! Things are really starting to heat up now, and it's awesome to see everyone so confident with their weapons. Also, Shinoa has opened up a lot more since we first met her, and it's adorable! This squad will be great to keep watching.
This episode felt calming, but still tinged with anxiety due to the many unanswered questions. The story was light and a little too fast paced, but it was engaging and enjoyable. The season finale truly left me curious to see what happens next.
This episode is so cool, realy crazy. I was so focused that I couldn't say a word while watching it. I was speechless when I saw the twist.
