More world building. We get to see what life is like for humans that weren't killed or captured by vampires. It's more normal than I would have thought tbh.
Yoichiro doesn't give up so easily, and I admire his resilience. Yuichi's innocent behavior also adds to the humor and warmth of the story. This is a great opening story.
