Episode nine shows us Tetsudome is even more brutal than Hifumi despite being an old lady. The Peak of Youth Ceremony is a very sad concept despite how it's framed, thinking your life peaks at fifteen is depressing. Black Santa is such a strange but good concept.

The whole Namatame lore... makes a bit of sense, I guess, Ofc there are disturbing themes. Sanda being a complete tank again, good luck Sanda... break a leg.

Namatame's backstory is really something, we get to see her side and know more about her. Half of this episode pace is with intensity then it goes to more character focus, The ending prepares us for up coming battle. I hope it is an action packed one.

I really love Sanda Kazushige and the Chief Director's relationship, it was so wholesome when she was helping him train to become stronger. The last part of this episode was so sad, especially since Shiori felt so conflicted.

It’s scary when Namatame thinks about killing Santa. That’s why Sanda needs to train. I’d feel nervous too if I had to shoot my friend—it’s really tough.

Seeing namatame talk about her past was really sad. the flashback with her mother felt very emotional and heavy. it gives a lot more context to why she acts the way she does.

This is more of a training episode with Sanda gaining a sorta battle form by being a bullet sponge, we also get to see more Ono and Fuyumura scenes

Santa being a good guy giving massages is wholesome, but this gets DARK fast. Chopped hands and Santa becoming a literal bullet sponge?! Also, Ono stripping was a wild choice, NOOO! And that cliffhanger with Ono meeting the Headmaster? Stressful!

This one hits hard again, the tension feels more serious and the stakes feel higher. Sanda feels more unpredictable which makes everything more engaging. It’s not clean, but that roughness actually works here. Yeah this is a strong episode 🔥

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 8's pivotal confrontation with Namatame that hardened Sanda's resolve, Episode 9 immediately interrogates whether that resolve is sustainable or self-destructive. Sitting at the three-quarter mark of a 12-episode run, this is the calm-before-the-storm character work that deepens stakes before the endgame. It directly sets the stage for the Peak of Youth festival arc, positioning the final stretch with escalating narrative complexity and shifting character dynamics.
