My opinion on Rei is changing because she acted like a huge jerk to Usagi this week, and it made the whole friendship breakup feel way too intense for a filler plot and I do like that the Rainbow Crystal arc is moving along, but focusing so much on these random love interests feels a bit slow when the main plot should be happening and I just want the silver crystal hunt back

That transformation into the giant red monster Jiji was such a weird turn for Rei's grandpa and seeing him struggle against the dark magic before changing was a nice touch

I am still trying to get over Yuuichiro and his terrible hair but his dedication to protecting Rei from her own giant monster grandpa was actually kind of sweet

Yuuichiro might be a total dork, but that little kiss on the cheek he got from Rei at the end made the whole mess worth it

I totally wasn't expecting Grandpa Hino to transform into that huge red demon, it was actually pretty freaky! But seeing him, even as a monster, try to reach out to Rei really got to me; it made me wonder how terrified Rei must have been, realizing it was still her grandpa in there.

When Usagi popped out in that ridiculous fortune teller hat trying to play matchmaker for Rei, I swear my face was stuck between a grimace and a giggle. It's so classic her to go overboard like that, but for Rei to instantly recognize her just from her voice made me burst out laughing at the sheer failure of it all.

I gotta say, I was genuinely surprised to see Grandpa try and fight Zoisite head-on, that takes some serious guts for him. Seeing his wild spirit do something like that really made me feel how personal and awful it was for Rei when he got turned into that red oni monster.

I totally cracked up when Grandpa started chasing Yuuichiro all over the shrine at the end; he really didn't want him dating Rei, did he? It's always so funny seeing him go into full protective mode, you can tell he secretly just loves causing a little chaos for Yuuichiro.

My jaw dropped when Rei just exploded at Usagi over that silly joke; I mean, I know she's got a temper, but that felt like such an overreaction that it made me wonder if she was secretly dealing with something way bigger than just Usagi's teasing. I really felt for Usagi, who looked so genuinely hurt by the whole thing.

Ugh, Tuxedo Mask showed up just to get the crystal swiped by Zoisite again, and honestly, I'm getting so tired of seeing him lose like that. It makes me wonder if he's ever going to actually win a fight or if he's just always going to be a damsel in distress for Sailor Moon to save.

When Rei suddenly snapped at Usagi and declared they weren't friends, my stomach dropped a little for Usagi, even though her fortune-telling obsession was definitely pushing boundaries. I couldn't help but feel that Rei's harshness probably stemmed from her own stress, making me wonder if she regretted it immediately after.

I honestly cracked up watching Usagi, who else, try to offer a literal demon some mochi during their fight, and my poor Luna just completely lost it. It's such a classic Usagi move, really, trying to solve a monster problem with snacks just makes me shake my head and smile.

Okay, Yuuichiro totally surprised me when he jumped in front of Rei like that; I always thought he was just a goofy slacker but that was genuinely brave. Even though their whole dynamic is kinda odd, especially with the age thing, it made me see him in a different light, like he really does care about her safety.

I was so surprised when Grandpa Hino actually fought back against Zoisite with his own spiritual power, it just makes me wonder if Rei gets her amazing spiritual abilities from him, or if it's something all the Hino family can tap into.

Oh man, I totally gasped when Grandpa turned into that huge red monster, it was genuinely creepy! And seeing Rei freeze up because she could still see his face in there? My heart sank for her, I can't imagine how conflicted she must've felt having to fight him.

Ugh, Zoisite is seriously such a jerk for going after Grandpa, I mean, picking on an old man? But honestly, I was so surprised at how well Grandpa fought him off initially, it was actually pretty cool to see.

I seriously cracked up when Luna, after being so high and mighty with Usagi all episode about staying focused, suddenly got mobbed by those cats at the very end; it was like instant karma for being such a nag!

I can't believe Yuuichiro actually got a kiss on the cheek after literally being thrown across the courtyard by that Youma, like, that's such a wild reward for almost getting pulverized. His totally over-the-top reaction to it made me absolutely crack up though; I swear he lives for these dramatic, silly moments with Rei.

I was actually pretty surprised when Yuuichiro just dove in front of that monster to save Rei; like yeah, he got knocked out super fast, but it really showed me just how much he's willing to do for her, you know?

I mean, Usagi actually trying to feed that monster mochi felt so incredibly silly, but I guess that's just her, always trying the weirdest solutions. Honestly though, I was super happy to see her and Rei finally make up; their huge blowout fight was getting pretty tiresome, and it's nice to have them back on good terms again.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 30 of 46, this lands well past the season's midpoint where the Dark Kingdom conflict should be intensifying, but as a confirmed filler episode, it steps away from that escalation entirely. The episodes surrounding this stretch often alternate between plot-critical developments and standalone character pieces, and this one falls squarely in the latter category. It neither advances the search for the Silver Crystal nor sets up subsequent arc beats, serving purely as a Rei-centric breather before the season pushes toward its climactic final act.
