Mako telling Reika she was being selfish for not choosing Africa was a lot but it actually pushed her to go anyway which turned out for the best

I felt so bad for Usagi when she was sniffing that coffee cup just to get a scent of Motoki only to find out he sees her as a little sister

Usagi and Makoto trying to cook hayashi rice while fighting over Motoki was chaotic, and it was hilarious when Usagi started crying over the onions instead of the actual heartbreak, plus it was a nice change to see them as rivals for a bit even if the ending at the airport where they watched the plane take off was a total downer

I was not expecting the monster to just catch Jupiters lightning in a giant glass flask like that and it made the whole fight feel different than usual

Both Usagi and Mako wailing in the park because Motoki has a girlfriend was actually funny and their crying felt so dramatic for no reason

Kunzite giving Zoisite that rose while they were plotting in the dark forest felt so intimate and it was easily the most interesting part of the villain scenes today

Techniklon using beakers to trap the sailors was a weird move but Sailor Mercury showing up with the mist saved the whole situation

Kunzite giving Zoisite a rose in the dark kingdom while they plot to steal crystals is the kind of villain energy this show needs

I cannot believe Makoto just put on a headband and cleaned his whole apartment in thirty minutes when he has a secret girlfriend the whole time

I seriously cracked up when Mamoru finally caught on that Motoki sees all the girls like sisters; I mean, he's always around Rei, so it just makes me wonder what he actually thinks about their relationship sometimes, lol.

I honestly wasn't surprised at all to see Usagi completely flail trying to make hayashi rice, especially when she started crying over the onions while Mako just effortlessly took over. It's just so her, always needing a bit of help with the mundane stuff even after all the crazy battles.

I'm always kinda amazed at Zoisite and Kunzite doing all their plotting in that dark forest, exchanging roses like it's some romantic rendezvous while they're literally figuring out how to ruin someone's entire life for a blue crystal. It makes me wonder if they're actually evil or just super dramatic about their jobs.

All Mako's efforts cleaning Motoki's apartment seemed so hopeful, so when she found that picture of Reika, I just felt this deep sigh for her as she realized he was already committed. It's one thing to have a crush, but seeing her put in all that personal work only to discover a girlfriend really puts a damper on things for her, doesn't it?

OMG, Motoki actually has a girlfriend! I was a little surprised, but then seeing Usagi and Mako literally melt into tears was just so hilarious, like, come on girls, did you really think you had a shot against a college student?

Makoto was seriously giving off stalker vibes this episode, and honestly, it felt so off to me watching her try to break up a happy couple just because she had a crush. I know she's always looking for love, but seeing her act like that just made me really question her judgment for a bit.

I totally cracked up when the girls went from sobbing about their crushes to stomping towards the arcade with those intense faces; it's so typical of them to get that dramatic over, like, everything, but I guess that's why I love them.

Ugh, Mamoru was such a grump outside the arcade, wasn't he? I mean, I get that he was right about them maybe not being able to beat a researcher, but does he always have to be so negative? It makes me wonder if he's just trying to protect them in his own weird way.

I loved seeing Makoto just obliterate that apartment with her cleaning, especially with that headband on, it's such a classic Jupiter move showing how powerful and dedicated she is even to chores. Seriously, an entire place in thirty minutes? My jaw dropped, that's wild.

I actually kinda laughed at first, watching everyone absolutely lose it at the airport as the plane departed, they're always such drama queens. But honestly, seeing them so genuinely upset made my chest ache a bit, even if their over-the-top reactions are totally on brand for them.

Ugh, Mamoru was such a snob outside the arcade, calling the girls a bunch of useless kids, and honestly, it really got under my skin. But then he turned out to be totally right about Reika being way too strong for them, which kind of annoyed me even more because why does he always have to be so condescending even when he's helpful?

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting past the halfway mark at episode 29 of 46, this filler arrives during a stretch where the show occasionally steps back from the escalating Dark Kingdom conflict to develop its cast dynamics, particularly the Usagi-Mamoru relationship. Prior episodes have been building toward larger revelations about the Moon Kingdom and the identities tied to it. While this installment doesn't advance that trajectory, the romantic tensions it plays with remain relevant connective tissue for the emotional stakes that intensify significantly in the season's final act.
