You really have to wonder about Umino and his brainwashed behavior, because trying to force a kiss on Usagi is so messed up. It is technically filler and the plot doesn't move much, but the chaos in the classroom with Ms. Haruna kicking desks was actually entertaining. Tuxedo Mask just showing up and doing basically nothing before leaving is the funniest thing.

I actually felt so bad for that old fortune teller when Usagi saw him all alone and sad while everyone else was lining up for the evil shop

seeing umino lift the teachers skirt like that was so wild and you can see why they skipped this episode on tv back in the day because it was way too much

Watching this episode for the first time, I totally get why they chopped it from the old dubs; Umino was just so completely creepy under that spell. Honestly, it was pretty unsettling seeing him act like such a predator, I actually felt bad for Usagi trying to deal with that whole situation.

I can't believe Tuxedo Mask just showed up to drop some flowery lines and then immediately dipped, leaving Sailor Moon to deal with the monster herself! It's so classic him though, and honestly, I'm starting to wonder if he's ever actually gonna help out, or if this dramatic entrance-and-exit thing is just his whole deal.

I was cracking up when Beryl kept asking her minions for updates and all she got back were just a bunch of random "no's" and "okay's." It really makes me think she's got to be so frustrated with them sometimes, like they're just clocking in at the Dark Kingdom and phoning it in.

OMG, when Usagi tried to crawl into class on her hands and knees, I totally felt that, lol! It reminded me so much of my own desperate attempts to avoid getting caught for being late back in the day, like, you just know that teacher is gonna spot her, right?

When Motoki just grazed Usagi's hand, I couldn't help but laugh as she totally spaced on the arcade game, proving she's such a goober when it comes to cute boys. Poor Luna, though, having to literally drag her away from swooning and remind her that, oh yeah, we have an actual job to do.

Ugh, Umino flipping skirts, even with the mind control, just felt super gross to me. I totally get why they'd cut that from the dub, it's just so creepy and unnecessary.

Okay, Palm's green monster form legit freaked me out, it was way more disturbing than I expected for a Sailor Moon villain so early on. But then seeing her just disintegrate into dust was actually kinda cool, even if it meant she was gone for good.

Ugh, Mamoru was seriously so annoying with his snarky comments about Usagi's hair, like, what's his deal anyway? I felt a little bad for him when the shoe hit, but honestly, he kind of walked right into that one.

Whoa, I was so caught off guard when Ms. Haruna just straight up kicked over her desk! Like, that's not exactly typical teacher behavior, is it? And honestly, her super bright outfit just made her anger even more bizarre, I almost couldn't take her seriously.

I really felt for that lonely old fortune teller, just sitting there all by himself, so it totally made my day when Usagi actually stopped to talk to him, even if I know she was mostly just dreaming about finding a boyfriend. It’s kinda sweet how even her boy-crazy nature can lead her to being so kind to someone who needed it, don't you think?

I seriously burst out laughing when Usagi's tears were what actually took down those mind-controlled dudes, like, only she could pull something that ridiculous off. It's totally on brand for her to weaponize crying, and honestly, it just makes me love her more.

I actually got such a laugh out of Umino in that wild blue suit, and I really couldn't believe how much his confidence boosted until the spell wore off, poor guy must've been so embarrassed.

Gah, when Usagi's classmates were acting all creepy, I was really starting to lose faith in her, like, was she ever gonna get it together? But then that Moon Tiara Action popped off, and seeing everyone snap out of it made me practically cheer out loud – she actually won, and it was so cool to see her finally shine!

Ugh, it's so frustrating to me that the original dub just skipped this episode because of some tarot cards, especially when it really establishes that classic monster-of-the-week rhythm I love in Sailor Moon. I just can't believe they cut out such a standard villain setup for something so minor.

Luna trying to wake Usagi with that chicken alarm was such a moment, I actually laughed out loud thinking about how much patience that cat's gonna need. Seriously, my girl just wants to sleep, and who can blame her? Becoming a hero sounds exhausting enough without having to be chipper at dawn.

I totally get why Usagi was so scared of that monster, like, who wouldn't be? Her freezing up and not wanting to go into the shop felt so real to me, I probably would've done the same thing if I were in her shoes.

Man, I was totally surprised this episode was hidden for so long just because Umino was being such a weirdo, but honestly, seeing all those boys shambling around like zombies actually gave me the creeps.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming right after Usagi's transformation debut in episode one, this episode solidifies the episodic structure and deepens her adjustment to being Sailor Moon while the Dark Kingdom's broader threat remains in its early stages. It's foundational world-building territory—episode two of forty-six means the show is still introducing its rhythm before key Sailor Guardians join the roster. Expect this stretch of early episodes to focus on Usagi finding her footing while the season's larger conflict simmers in the background.
