The chibi segment saved this episode for me honestly. Tanya trying to climb that lookout ladder because she's too short while Visha and Weiss just watch her struggle. This show knows exactly when to puncture its own grim tone

Major Helmu is instantly my favorite new character. That flamboyant professionalism bouncing off Tanya's deadpan misery was too good. Also that final homeland message at the end has me nervous for what's coming next

Feels rushed compared to the novels. The breakout in the book had way more tactical layers and little fights that made the win feel earned. Here it's just torpedoes go boom and the fleet sinks in like a minute. The animation was still gorgeous though

The Providence speech hit me hard. Tanya straight up telling Being X that their escape came from strategy and math not divine intervention. That's the Tanya I missed from earlier this season. Pure spite fuel

That moment when Tanya realizes her own sarcasm got weaponized against her. Dude pitched human torpedoes as a joke and now she's personally riding one into combat. Her cursed expression when Schugel grabbed her arms was peak comedy

I came for the naval warfare and stayed for Tanya's theatrical Ildoa harbor entrance. Standing on deck waving like a child while those officers froze in shock. She knows exactly how terrifying that contrast is and she leans into it hard

I need to talk about the title change from Lightning to Torpedo. The shipping platforms are actually right this time since raigeki in naval context is literally torpedo. Smart translation call even if the LN folks are mad about skipped skirmishes

The Hood-analogue getting sunk AGAIN is never not funny. But that human torpedo bit where Tanya's sarcastic suggestion came back to haunt her had me wheezing. The irony writes itself with this show

That rain of blood visual during the Being X monologue gave me chills Studio NUT absolutely nailed the atmosphere in this episode

Are they seriously at Volume 9 already? The pacing is way too fast and they are cutting out so much political context from the light novel at this rate we are going to need a brotherhood remake

I loved the dining scene with Uger. It really shows how Tanya is so logically brilliant but completely blind to human emotion. That cold corporate mindset got her killed in her first life and it is still her biggest flaw

Seeing the capital fall into complete war delirium hit me so hard. I loved how Tanya stood there at that empty coffin funeral and realized logic literally cannot fix a populace that is addicted to victory. She is totally trapped in this madness and cursing Being X at the end was so cathartic

I honestly lost my mind when Zettour used himself as literal front line bait just assuming Tanya would read his thoughts and pull off that pincer attack. The sheer cold blooded confidence on that man is terrifying

Rudersdorf acting like a completely defeated man while simultaneously torpedoing the peace talks makes zero sense to me. Does this guy have a hidden death wish for the whole Empire or what

Rudersdorf calling Tanya stupid to her face was easily the best part of the whole episode. Her genius brain completely short circuits the moment she has to handle basic human emotions and watching her look totally out of depth was amazing

They really cut out the shoulder carry grandpa moment from volume nine and I am actually so salty about it. I get that Studio NUT wants a pitch black tone for this arc but come on man

Probably the best episode of this new season so far as everything comes together. Zettour also gets his moment to shine on the battlefield. Amazing aerial combat animation and really great sound effects.

Zettour casually riding around the front lines taking a smoke break just to bait the enemy into a trap was insane logic and somehow it actually worked

I could not believe my eyes when Tanya gave up on magic and went full brute force with a rifle bayonet charge. Those Federation mages were tanking hits like actual brick walls, so watching her shift tactics to point blank bayonet stabbing felt so raw and savage. Mary Sue shouting in the background made it even crazier
