Oshimeter
Synopsis
With its armies sweeping across the continent, the Empire seems unstoppable. After securing victory over the remnants of the Republic's army, the Empire's ultimate victory is finally within reach. However, dark clouds are gathering in the East. The communist-led Russy Federation is mustering troops on its western border, preparing to enter the war. Supported by a detachment of Allied volunteer magicians—among whom is Mary Sioux, the daughter of a soldier killed by Tanya Degurechaff—the Federation is determined to spread the communist creed and bring the Empire to its knees. Meanwhile, Tanya and her battalion return to the imperial capital from the southern front. Upon their arrival, they are tasked with investigating troop movements on the border with the Federation. Any escalation of violence at this point may lead to new conflicts, plunging the world into a devastating global war. Will the Empire eventually emerge victorious from its struggle, or will it crumble in the face of superior enemies and radically different ideologies?

This movie was great, though some scenes may have had pacing issues because they went on too long while trying to develop the strategic side of the story. The animation from the start was great, with really nice visual elements. The expressions, as always, were the cherry on top, especially from Tanya and the rest of the characters. The fights were strong overall, and the final fight was the best of them all.

An amazing film that really showcases Tanya's ruthlessness and wit, the strength of the battalion she's built, and the cold realities of participating in wars and fighting. This has been quite a treat in terms of animation quality as well! Never doubted that Studio Nut could deliver another masterpiece under this series, too. This rewatch really makes me excited for the upcoming season.
39 Years after the great war! The world has gone to shock and Tanya is the main reason why it was like that. No spoiler but the movie was really awesome. Driven not by intellect by feelings. Feelings is more used than intellect as it drives people crazy and give them powers, powers that you never knew you can but was able to do. Tanya will never get that quiet life she wanted as what happened in the end of the movie.
I really liked the environment and background art throughout the movie, especially with how beautifully the skies were drawn. It made the scenes feel a little cinematic during everything that transpired. I find it so funny whenever Tanya would make her iconic crazy faces throughout some of the scenes though, especially near the end lol.
Tanya's newest "rival" here was both disappointing and irritating. It makes me want to not root for their so-called "reason". That aside, Tanya, our ultimate menace on the battlefield, strikes again! Her superiors are annoying, though. I love the fact that one can learn a thing or two about war and strategies; it really makes you think about the nuances in between. This had been such a fun watch.
