I did not expect to tear up at a frog merchant being negotiated into bankruptcy by a horned girl with an abacus. Then the wedding happened and I was fully crying. This show keeps sneaking real emotion into the comfy slice of life

Dias really had zero people skills before this episode huh. Everyone knew Klaus and Canis were a thing but he was too busy eating to notice. The wedding was sweet though and the bone necklace gesture hit me harder than I expected

The episode started with an odd scene, but the rest of it was pretty chill and easy to follow. I do wish some of the side characters had been explored more, as I think they have a lot of potential. Still, the ending really left a big impression on me. The final scene was completely unexpected and genuinely surprised me.

“If you do something good, it will come back to you in some other form.” This quote really fits what happened to Dias in this episode. The fight itself wasn’t really worth mentioning, but the soundtrack was definitely a highlight. The political move was rather predictable and honestly, I’d much rather focus on how Dias will improve his domain and develop it further than spend time on the political side of things.

Dianne running through that forest feeling like she was in a horror movie with invisible archers shooting at her feet had me wheezing

I died laughing when Dias picked up that dragon staff and casually shot a massive jet of fire into the sky only to end up using it just to light a tiny stove for dinner

Count Eldan taking a casual tea break right in the middle of a massive war battle was the funniest shit ever and then those mercenaries just turning around and dipping because they remembered Dias saved their lives back in the war

Seeing the mercenary captain just hand back the gold pouch and walk away because nobody wanted to fight the guy who saved them in the war was so incredibly satisfying

Seeing those Tibe Masty mastiffs in full armor doing pack tackles with Klaus made them look like real intimidating army units instead of cute dog mascots

Princess Diane is completely out of her mind for stealing the golden scepter and threatening everyone with that forged scroll, but Prince Richard explaining how Dias beat up three noble kids and then punched him in the jaw was pure gold. You can tell this whole army is about to regret stepping foot on that plain

Dias wrestling a colossal snake with his bare hands just to put it to sleep was hilarious and then dog people pop out of its mouth unharmed I was dying laughing

The pacing was way too slow in this episode and spent too much time on political exposition instead of showing the village actually doing something interesting

I lost my mind when Dias sent back that letter to Eldan saying he would just cooperate with the royal order and Eldan started screaming in sheer terror

Klaus and Canis instantly catching feelings after five seconds on screen is top tier romance, especially when he bandaged that mastiff paw right in front of her

I had a pretty good idea of how Dias would rescue the Dogkin at the beginning of the episode, so that part wasn’t much of a surprise. It’s also nice to see that there are other characters who understand Dias’s personality besides Eldan. The episode also provides some much-needed explanation as to why the king sent Dias to the grasslands in the first place. The scene at the end definitely increased my anticipation for the next episode. I’m really curious to see what Dias has planned and how he intends to deal with their current predicament.

Princess Diane's arrival completely changed the atmosphere. What started as another wholesome development episode suddenly shifted into a tense political confrontation.
