EPISODE REVIEWS

This was probably the most enjoyable episode of the anime so far. There was no unnecessary fan service or forced romance.. just some solid character lore, and wholesome family moments. The episode mainly focused on Gigi's backstory, and it added a lot more depth to both the character and the overall story. I'd say this is one of the strongest character focused episodes so far because it gave Gigi much more development and made the narrative more engaging. As for the animation, it actually felt noticeably better this episode. Whether it was due to the direction or the extra polish in certain scenes, the overall presentation looked more refined than usual tbh.

I'm not into older men but Gigi is the exception. I knew that man was interesting from the fact he ate and drank alone. Though, his design makes him look bug-eyed. I think this had the most interesting backstory!

Up until now, we didn't know much about Gigi, only that he is an expert at choosing wines and that he eats a lot, BUT in this episode, we learn so much more about him. I liked that instead of just focusing on Claudio and Nicoletta's romance, the anime also centers on telling us the stories of other secondary characters—like Gigi in this case, who is quite observant, which is why he is a professional wine connoisseur. He knows exactly which wine is the best for every occasion. And without anyone even telling him, he already knows Nicoletta's secret, so he's an absolute pro.
