Watching the two bond over a similar trauma was a little heartbreaking. The episode did highlight the emperor's personality in a much more positive light, though, and it made more sense why he wanted to find out who the jade earrings belonged to. Overall, predictable but still a decent watch.

Felt the plot was pretty predictable so felt nothing much interesting. But the backstory was heartbreaking and the art style was used for story telling was amazing! Pacing was quite fast but overall,good one

the way they used the used the kind of old drawing book style to showcase flashback is a charming point. otherwise, the court drama isn't confusing
