Ranma ½ (2024) Season 2

This starts emotionally as Ranma thinks Akane has turned into a duck, but thankfully she hasn’t. The best part is Mousse’s effort to win Shampoo. I thought the smoke would form a skull. 😂 The ending is super cute, and I think Akane is also appreciating Ranma’s presence 🥰

The funny part is when Mousse mistakes a plush pig for Akane, hahaha😂😂. This raises the tension when he actually abducts her. The ending is a cliffhanger, heyya! 😤. The pacing is smooth, and the animation does a good job.

This episode is about Akane playing Juliet while Ranma plays Romeo, but what Ranma really wants is the prize, a trip to China. The play mixes action and a fairy-tale vibe, and the ending is really cute, hahaha. 🥰🥰

This episode introduces another character and centers on a love triangle caused by Ranma’s father, hahaha. It creates tension and confusion, especially for Akane. In the end, it never fails to make you laugh.

The funniest part here is when Ranma discovers the unexpected truth, hahaha. 😂😂 I love the animation and the story, just when you think it’s going to get serious, it turns funny again.

While Akane is having an intense fight, Ranma is dealing with something romantic, but his thoughts are on Akane’s fight. The animation and setting are well done, and while there isn’t much action, the comedy is still there.

This episode introduces a new character, the old pervy guy, hahaha. As I remember, he really likes underwear. 😂🫢 The pacing is fast but slightly more focused on setup than action.

This starts as a simple contest but turns chaotic as different tactics and interruptions come into play. The funny part is when Akane helps Tatewaki fight Ranma hahaha😂😂 The animation does a good job, and the pacing is fast and energetic.

Ranma is making a tough decision here, Akane or Shampoo, hahaha. Very tough choices, huh? 😂😂 This episode mixes action, comedy, and character development. I love the beach setting.

I like how Ranma transitions into a bunny girl, that was really smooth, HAHAHAH. The animation is very smooth during the fight, and it mixes action and humor without slowing down

This episode is so funny. Ranma never runs out of problems, especially when it comes to girls, hahaha. This episode shows how the series relies on character interactions to create humor, with a bit of action as well.

The last bit at the end made it look like there is a relationship development between Ranma and Akane. To be honest the remake captures the chaotic essence of Ranma 1/2 but because of several modern restriction [just do a research😉] the studio didn't fully display the other essence that also makes up of Ranma 1/2. There is also the problem of the exagerrated sound effects character pop-up but aside from that most of the animation is great.

It's a great move to make the ending a cliff hanger but still using an excessive amount of sound effects character pop-up isn't a great move 😑. It's a good thing that the animation in this episode is smooth, hopefully the last episode will stay consistent with the animation quality.

There are still some unnecessary sound effects character pop-up but it's not too excessive. It seems like the animators have a second wind to them since the animation of the fight scene during the play was great and they absolutely made sure that Akane looked beautiful on her close up kiss scene with Ranma.

The episode was how I remembered it back then minus the severely watered down actions of Happosai. It was very disappointing that the distracting sound effects character pop-ups have been retained plus the art and animation on the lake is inconsistent not to mention that the art of the food have dipped quite a lot, it's not detailed anymore. It's seems that they are running out of budget and the animators are getting tired 🤷

It's the return of the distracting sound effect characters and why I hate that 😑. In addition to that, they didn't have to put a distracting border on Ukyo's introduction at the school, those things are just overkill. I was also expecting another marvelous art of the okonomiyaki but I guess the studio ran out of budget 😏. Nonetheless the adaptation of Ukyo's introduction to the series was good.

As always the episode is chaotic but fun to watch. Another animation flex from studio Mappa, a fight that showcases the fluid animation of the character's movement and action. P.S. Do take note of the instant spring packets, as they will be the focus again in a future episode.

The character design of Happosai looks polished and doesn't deviate from the original design. I don't remember him having the spirit aura thing though, it must be an animation flex from Mappa 😏. Overall it's a fun episode to watch as Happosai gets introduced to the series.

Even the art of the food is amazing especially the marvelous focus shot of the okonomiyaki 🤤. The running while fighting animation is just fluid and what's even better is I didn't find the poping characters for sound effects distracting in this episode.

There are still some parts that doesn't need to have those sound effect character pop-ups. The animation is still consistently good and suspense I felt when Ranma was asked who to choose between Shampoo and Akane is the same as when I watched the 1989 anime. A great remake of the beach episode, it retained how chaotic and fun of a watch that was on the 1989 anime👌
