Ranma ½ (2024) Season 2

Ever since falling into a cursed spring, Ranma Saotome has had a problem: he turns into a girl every time he gets hit with cold water. Hot water changes him back. His dad, who also fell into a different spring and turns into a panda, arranged for Ranma to marry Akane Tendou, a girl who wants nothing to do with him. That's the setup, and it only gets messier from there. This second season of MAPPA's 2024 remake picks up with Ranma and Akane settled into their reluctant engagement, still bickering constantly but clearly warming up to each other. New complications arrive in the form of Hikaru Gosunkugi, a quietly obsessive classmate who's got a thing for Akane and teams up with the delusional Tatewaki Kunō to take Ranma down. The gender-swap curse keeps generating ridiculous situations, and the martial arts fights stay creative and fun to watch. The vibe is classic rom-com chaos: misunderstandings pile up, rival love interests scheme, and every fight scene doubles as physical comedy. MAPPA gives the whole thing a clean modern look while keeping the energy of Rumiko Takahashi's original manga intact. If you enjoyed the gender-bending humor in something like Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl or the comedic martial arts tone of Cheeky Angel, this hits a similar sweet spot. Twelve episodes, zero filler, and the kind of show where you're genuinely rooting for two stubborn people to just admit they like each other.
