QUICK TAKES

An awesome 1st episode to start off the reboot of the series. Somehow they managed to make it fresh but at the same time nostalgic. I like the new aesthetic style they are going for, mixing the manga style and at the same time the sticker magazines kind of style where you see white borders around almost every object. Having the most of the og voice actors back definitely tugs onto the nostalgic string too.

I really like how soft the features are now and the color pallette very inviting. Not too heavy and has a light feeling to it. The writing and the flow of the comedy is just natural, as always. Better fighting scenes too! Another thing I super noticed is how stellar the VAs are ♥

It’s hilarious to see the Tendo sisters' reactions to their new houseguests, and the animation for the transformation reveal is amazing!

I personally haven't finished the original but I already love how faithful the artstyle looks and gives it a modern cutesy feel. It does feel a bit too bright at times, however. The fights feel even more fluid than the original (thank you, modern animation!) and the special fx gives it extra character too. An overall strong debut episode for an adaptation.

the premiere was pure chaotic energy from start to finish. the way the animation flowed during the fight scenes? smooth. the comedy beats landed perfectly, especially when akane was trying to process everything. the misunderstandings felt classic without being tired.😂

Nah this intro is pure chaos 😂 Ranma’s situation is already wild and funny. The remake visuals look clean too. Some fast pacing but super entertaining. Easy watch. 💥

This remake successfully brings back a sense of nostalgia for the older fans. It preserves the classic comedic elements and the original manga art style, but with high-contrast, vivid colors and superior animation quality that make it look more vibrant than ever!

The Ranma 1/2 remake on Netflix is a total trip! Ep 1 hits all the right beats: the chaos, the curse, and that classic humor. Seeing it in high quality brings back all the nostalgia of my childhood but feels fresh. If you loved the original, this is a must-watch.

I really liked how the story jumps straight into the chaos while still feeling fun and charming. It made me laugh, got me curious about the characters, and felt lively and engaging right from the start.

Love the innovations they made compared to the original. The fighting scenes really pop out. The storytelling, the antics, chemistry... this show has elements that remains unique to it, even after all this time. The voice actors reprising their roles really did it for me.

As an old fan (even though I haven’t rewatched the original anime), and as someone who considers it an OG classic, this episode still makes me feel the same way I remember Ranma, wacky and sweet but with unexpected great animation.
