Episode Context

Directly following 'Enter Pikachu!', which reestablished Ash and grounded the series' fresh direction, this episode is the true launchpad for Pokémon Journeys by introducing Goh and forging the partnership that drives the entire 136-episode run. It bridges Ash's solo reintroduction into the collaborative research-focused format that defines the series. The next episode, 'Ivysaur's Mysterious Tower', builds on this foundation as Ash and Goh take on their first joint research task together.
