I was so sure Fuecoco was going to evolve during the big finish so I am a little annoyed he is still in his base form

Giving Roy a proper reason to sing through that flashback with his sailor parents made the connection with Fuecoco during the battle feel much deeper

Episode Context

This episode directly follows Roy's challenging encounter with Gym Leader Ryme in Episode 61, turning his setback into a focused character study about bouncing back stronger. It represents Pokémon Horizons' ongoing pattern of alternating spotlight episodes between its leads, giving Roy meaningful growth before the narrative shifts to Liko's own trials against Gym Leader Grusha in Episode 63. Within the broader season, it reinforces the series' core thesis that trainer-Pokémon bonds deepen through adversity, not just victory.
