Poor Liko getting trapped by a whole mob of Caterpie and Oddish was actually kind of scary and those Scyther were not playing around at all

Roy throwing rocks with that much accuracy is actually insane and he basically saved Liko from those Scyther before Friede showed up with the snacks

Learning that Friede is a whole professor caught everyone off guard and he really just settled a forest riot by handing out fruit like a pro

Roy's bond with Fuecoco felt so genuine, not just a typical trainer-Pokémon meet-cute; I mean, their little singing duet was adorable, and it makes me wonder if that's how he'll find all his future partners. But then the ancient Poké Ball and Liko's pendant reacted to each other, which totally surprised me, and now I'm convinced they're both linked to something huge. Amethio lurking in that submarine at the end though, that was a real chill for me, like, what's his actual plan?

It was so funny watching Fuecoco wander off to eat all those berries and then bond with Roy through singing. I think they are a perfect match after seeing them escape those Scyther together

When little Fuecoco tumbled right off the ship, I totally gasped, like NOOO! But seeing him just immediately vibe with Roy and make a new friend so quickly after that scare? My worries totally melted away; it felt like such a perfect, adventurous first meeting for them both.

Those Scyther were legitimately terrifying when they cornered Liko against the tree. Roy throwing stones to distract them was a great way to show how he survives on an island without any trainers to help him

Whoa, when Liko's pendant reacted to that ancient Poké Ball, my jaw totally dropped! I can't stop thinking about what legendary Pokémon could be hidden in there, it's such an awesome mystery building up.

It is interesting how this show keeps a continuous story instead of just random adventures. The way the explorers are lurking in that high tech sub at the end makes the stakes feel much higher

I can't get over how cute Fuecoco and Roy were together and the singing part made me smile so much and seeing that ancient ball react to the pendant is a huge mystery

Roy and Liko finally meeting felt like a big deal, and seeing his ancient poke ball glow near her pendant is a massive mystery. That reaction between the two items makes the whole journey feel much bigger

The moment Roy and Fuecoco sat on that branch and sang together really stuck with me. It was such a sweet way for them to connect before the wild pokemon started their rampage across the forest

hitotsume_kozo_31
I really loved meeting Roy and he feels like such a natural fit for the group already plus his energy is just infectious and seeing him bond with Fuecoco over singing was such a highlight because it felt so genuine and then that ending with Amethio in the submarine just proves the Explorers are not giving up any time soon

Liko and Sprigatito were totally overwhelmed by those weedle and caterpie using string shot. It was lucky Friede showed up with those berries to calm everyone down before things got really ugly for them

Seeing Liko try to do her lookout job only for everything to go wrong immediately is so relatable and she is doing her best with Sprigatito

Amethio showing up at the end in a submarine is such a classic villain move and he clearly wants that pendant more than anything else
serena's avatar

Hearing Friede is a professor actually caught me off guard because he feels way more like a rugged adventurer. Liko looked just as confused as everyone else when he dropped that title to the island elder

The mystery with that ancient poke ball is eating at me because it reacted to Liko's pendant immediately. They are definitely connected and now the explorers are closing in with a literal submarine
kiawe's avatar
kiawe
The animation when Sprigatito used Leafage to hold off those wild Pokemon was surprisingly sharp, and the scale of the Brave Olivine looks even more impressive from the ground level
kamaro's avatar

Amethio's submarine popping up at the end really made me nervous, like, he's seriously not going to let go of that pendant, huh? I'm kind of wondering how he always finds them, it's gotta be annoying for our heroes!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the high-stakes rescue of Sprigatito in Episode 3, this fourth episode deliberately downshifts to expand the cast and world, introducing Roy as a key new player alongside his mysterious ancient Poké Ball. It serves as the connective tissue between the early Liko-focused episodes and the broader ensemble adventures ahead. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into Episode 5, 'Found You, Fuecoco!', continuing to build the team dynamics that will define the season.
