QUICK TAKES

The animation during the rooftop fight looked incredible and Captain Pikachu is definitely not a normal Pikachu and seeing him go toe to toe with a Ceruledge was impressive and the music during that scene was great

I really wasn't sure about the Rising Volt Tacklers at first, but seeing how they all worked together to help Liko get her cat back was so wholesome. Seeing Onia try to pamper Sprigatito was such a weird twist that I didn't see coming at all. Liko standing her ground against Skarmory was the highlight for me because she finally stopped being scared.

I am really curious about Roy and that mysterious flag he found on the beach and he seems so different from Liko and his energy is great for the end of the episode

Nurse Joy helping that little girl with her Vulpix really hit home for Liko and gave her the push she needed to go find her partner and that moment at the Pokemon Center was so soft
judeau_the_knife_191's avatar
judeau_the_knife_191
Murdock's Rockruff is the best boy for tracking Sprigatito through the city and watching the team use a distraction so Liko could sneak into the warehouse was a solid plan and it worked out perfectly
noodle_munch's avatar
noodle_munch
Friede using his Charizard to create a wall of fire was such a cool way to end the fight and the Rising Volt Tacklers seem like a fun group and I like their airship a lot

moryomaru_252
I did not think she would actually pull off a move like that Leafage diversion to get away from Skarmory and it felt like she finally found her footing as a trainer

When Liko's pendant started glowing like that during their escape, I totally gasped! It makes me think there's way more to that jewelry than just a pretty stone, and I'm super curious about what kind of power it holds.

Liko really pushed herself to get her cat back and seeing her face off against the Explorers instead of just waiting for a rescue felt like a huge win for her character

I was laughing so hard when Onia was trying to buy Sprigatito's love with all those toys and snacks and it made her feel like a real person to me

I was already enjoying the episode, but seeing Roy find that flag on the beach at the end got me so excited to see how he fits into everything

Murdock and his Rockruff are the real heroes for tracking down that warehouse because without that sense of smell the search would have been a total disaster

You can tell the series is really shifting gears now that Liko is officially a Rising Volt Tackler and watching her look at the sunset with her new family was a great way to end the day
franky_fiesta_65's avatar
franky_fiesta_65
The shift in Liko from being scared to actually standing her ground against Amethio was such a good change of pace because she did not just let the adults do everything, and her using Sprigatito to create an opening showed she has a brain for strategy which makes joining the crew feel earned after all that warehouse tension and drama
vasto_lorde_void's avatar

Having a villain like Onia treat a captured pokemon to a buffet and toys because it was too cute to resist was the funniest way to handle a kidnapping ever
croaa's avatar

Liko running into that warehouse to save Sprigatito was so brave and seeing her finally stand up to those Explorers felt great and she is really starting to act like a trainer now and I love it

When Liko finally busted through that door, I totally cheered for her, and then Sprigatito jumping right into her arms felt so incredibly heartwarming. It showed me just how much they already mean to each other, even this early on, and made me believe they're gonna be an awesome team.

I was holding my breath when Captain Pikachu went up against that Ceruledge and seeing a Pikachu that actually knows how to use high speed moves like that was such a surprise

jonathan_joestar_196
The battle between Captain Pikachu and Ceruledge was actually intense, and seeing Pikachu use Double Team to mess with Amethio was a highlight for me. Liko deciding to join the crew felt like the right move.
guts_the_swordsman_189's avatar
guts_the_swordsman_189
I am really enjoying the more serious tone this show is taking and Friede is such a cool mentor figure for Liko so far especially since he did not just win the fight for her but gave her the space to go rescue her own pokemon while he kept the big boss busy with his charizard and captain pikachu

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following the inciting conflict of Sprigatito's capture by the Explorers in the previous episodes, this third entry is a critical early payoff that cements Liko's commitment to her journey and solidifies her place among the Rising Volt Tacklers. It builds directly on the mysteries introduced around Liko's pendant while establishing the Explorers as a persistent threat. The episode sets the foundation for deeper alliances and longer-term story threads that will define Horizons' opening arc.
